Wave Shade Installation Instructions Installation guidelines and information regarding your Wave Shade Wave Shade Installation Instructions 1. Install Eyebolts/Eyeplate/Eyescrews to the wall or pergola. The eyes should be set in 100mm from the sides of the shade. 2. The wire cable then needs to be cut to size, attach one end to the turnbuckle (see photo showing how wire is inserted into swageless terminal) 3. The turnbuckle should be positioned at one end of the shade, pull wire right around through all 4 Eyebolts and back to the turnbuckle. Make sure the Turnbuckle is fully extended. Pull the wire as tight as you can and pull it past the opposite end of the Turnbuckle, mark the wire at point X shown in image above using your black marker pen, this is where you will cut the wire. Attach loose end of cable to the other end of the Turnbuckle – you will need to take the turnbuckle apart for this. 4. Apply thread grease to exposed thread of the turnbuckle. Tighten the Turnbuckle till the wire is very tight – tighter the better! Then apply grease to the wire cable too, the hooks slide much better when you put lanolin grease on the wire, apply liberally. 5. Place your Wave Shade Cover on a table with some protection like a sheet or packaging foam (use a bigger table than the one shown in image below ) 6. Get the front aluminum spar – insert 4 stainless nuts in the open end (these may already be inserted), the 2 outside nuts will be for the stainless hooks, and the center ones will be used later for the retraction kit. 7. You now have to attach the stainless steel snap hooks to the aluminium spars on the shade. To get the exact spacing for these snap hooks- measure the width between the cables you have installed. Mark the aluminium spars at the same width/space that your wire is. 8. You will have 2 lengths of spacing tape for each Wave Shade – this is to run across the top of the aluminum spars keeping the Wave Shades evenly spaced.

Wave Shade Installation Instructions Installation guidelines and information regarding your Wave Shade

Wave Shade Installation Instructions

1. Install Eyebolts/Eyeplate/Eyescrews to the wall or pergola. The eyes should be set

in 100mm from the sides of the shade.

2. The wire cable then needs to be cut to size, attach one end to the turnbuckle (see

photo showing how wire is inserted into swageless terminal)

3. The turnbuckle should be positioned at one end of the shade, pull wire right

around through all 4 Eyebolts and back to the turnbuckle. Make sure the

Turnbuckle is fully extended. Pull the wire as tight as you can and pull it past the

opposite end of the Turnbuckle, mark the wire at point X shown in image above

using your black marker pen, this is where you will cut the wire. Attach loose end of

cable to the other end of the Turnbuckle – you will need to take the turnbuckle

apart for this.

4. Apply thread grease to exposed thread of the turnbuckle. Tighten the Turnbuckle

till the wire is very tight – tighter the better! Then apply grease to the wire cable

too, the hooks slide much better when you put lanolin grease on the wire, apply

liberally.

5. Place your Wave Shade Cover on a table with some protection like a sheet or

packaging foam (use a bigger table than the one shown in image below )

6. Get the front aluminum spar – insert 4 stainless nuts in the open end (these may

already be inserted), the 2 outside nuts will be for the stainless hooks, and the

center ones will be used later for the retraction kit.

7. You now have to attach the stainless steel snap hooks to the aluminium spars on

the shade. To get the exact spacing for these snap hooks- measure the width

between the cables you have installed. Mark the aluminium spars at the same

width/space that your wire is.

8. You will have 2 lengths of spacing tape for each Wave Shade – this is to run across

the top of the aluminum spars keeping the Wave Shades evenly spaced.

9. Take the webbing tapes, starting at one end of the shade, feed the first eyelet onto

the thread of your stainless hook, now take your stainless hook and tighten into the

nut in the channel, once this comes tight – continue to tighten until the hook is in

line with the channel on the spar, it may seem quite hard to keep tightening but it

won’t damage anything. Now tighten down the nut that is on the thread of the

stainless hook to the top of the channel, this holds the tape in position. Repeat to all

other hooks. The stainless hooks can be facing in our out its your call, but keep

everything uniform.

10. On one of the end spars (the end that will stay parked – not the end that

retracts/extends) you need to put a hook in the centre. This hook needs to be

tightened at right angles to the channel in the spar.

11. If you are using a POLE RETRACTION KIT follow these instructions. With the 2 center

nuts in the leading aluminium spar, bolt on the stainless steel folded plate. See

image to the right. Bolt it in the center of the plate with the hook part facing away

from the shade.

12. Once all the hooks are in place you can now connect the shade to your overhead

wire cable by simply clipping both stainless hooks on each spar onto the wire.

13. Now to extend the shade you simple place the spike of your Wave Shade Retraction

Pole through the hole in the plate and push the shade out. Hook the hook over the

wire at the end and this will hold the shade out
