Normally at this time you’d be reading RallyDay announcements to bring us backtogether after summer and look forward toeducational offerings. These programs arecoming back, but things feel different thisyear with no real summer to return from, sowe’re doing things different. We are happy toto introduce you to Mission Mingle. It’ssimple, stick around after church (anyservice) for a few minutes and complete asmall service project with a big impact whilemeeting someone new. For our at-homeworshippers, the option to participatedigitally will be available too! An Inquirer's Class willbe offered this fall

beginning in September. The 5 sessionInquirer's class is offered to those who desireto learn more about Messiah Church, thecore beliefs of the congregation, and the DNAof the community of Christ which gathershere. At the conclusion of the classes,participants are able to officially join asmembers of the congregation if they sochoose.

Elevator Update(We Wish!)

We regret to say thatMessiah’s elevator will beout of commission again

this weekend. A motor component needs tobe replaced. We signed a contract last Fridaywith Schindler Elevator Co. A new dooroperator has been ordered and is beingprogrammed for our specific elevator. Thework is scheduled to be completed nextweek, as long as all the components arriveduring these Covid manufacturing days.

** If you are unable to make it to thesanctuary for a service, there will be abrief service of Communion offered inthe Atrium at 11:15 am.

If you require the elevator, we encourage youto join us via livestream this weekend. Youcan access the livestream HERE. Thank youfor your understanding.

Exciting Summer FacilityRenovation Project Update

By the grace of God and the work of thefaithful saints of Messiah, we areexcited to announce that together we havereached our summer renovation goal of$283, 800. We are now working on our

wish list of building a new storage closet ($7,000) and a newbranding/advertising campaign for Messiah Church and School($15,000). Our building project is near completion. Weatherpermitting, the west stairs by our preschool entrance will be repairedthis week. However, we ran into a delay with the flooring of our newlyrenovated library. We expect the flooring to arrive in mid September.Please stop by Messiah for a personal tour of our improvements.

Fantasy Football is Coming! Join the Messiah Church and School Fantasy Football League!

For the past 3 years, Messiah Church and School has enjoyed the fun of a Fantasy FootballLeague. There is no cost to join, and there is no prize money. Just Pride! 2 of the past 3years, Chris Neumann has won the league and thus, the Pride!

You Can Help OurNeighbors Fight Food

Insecurity Our Little Free Pantry ispart of Messiah’s LaundryLove PLUS efforts to fightfood insecurity in Fairview Park. The povertyrate in Fairview Park is 8.15%. One out ofevery 12 residents of Fairview Park live inpoverty, meaning that 1,302 of 15,981 (2020data) Fairview Park residents reportedincome levels below the poverty line in thelast year. These are the people we arehelping. Members of our Care Team restock the boxthroughout each week, at an average cost of$50 worth of groceries each time.Contributions are always welcome! Alldonations are welcomed, but items really inneed are: peanut butter, canned items (soup,fruit, vegetables, stew, fish, beans), pasta,rice , and oatmeal. We ask that you do NOTdonate: items needing refrigeration, bakedgoods, expired food, food with packagingconcerns, or items in glass jars. Donations can be left in the shopping carts inthe area by the church elevator duringbusiness/worship hours. Thank you inadvance for your generosity! Love Care Team member is the community that is builtamong those that serve once a month at Leo'sLaundromat. Messiah volunteers are the vision carriersof the church, and right now, our Laundry Lovevolunteer numbers aren’t where we need them to be.
