WBE Canada has been a catalyst to the growth of supplier diversity in Canada certifying women business enterprises (WBEs) since 2009. Now, with an expanded

mandate and renewed endorsement from corporations and governments, WBE Canada is

poised to bring supplier diversity programs and practices to more certified women business

owners, corporations and public purchasing organizations, and facilitate those business

connections.

• Stakeholders value the organization that offers access to remove barriers embracing

the true benefits of supplier diversity by focusing on the business value to address

under-represented businesses that are 51% owned, operated and controlled by

women in Canada.

• Our certification offers legitimacy to our purpose. The rigor of our certification is based

on a global standard allowing both WBEs and corporations to benefit from the quality

of certification founded on WBENC protocols.

• We have achieved growth. Certifications increased 20% in FY 2013/2014 with an

increase in WBE retention from 82% to 88% (April 25 and March 31, 2014 respectively).

A survey of WBEs and corporations conducted in early 2014 identified business

success with certified suppliers and corporate members.

WBE Canada proudly acknowledges the continued support of Status of Women of Canada.
