Harry Brammer (Keith Butler) Despite being famous (amongst his friends) for sipping coffee in the background of a Gilmore Girls episode, this is Harry’s first stage appearance. He’d like to thank his parents, his cats, and maybe his siblings, but mostly the first two.
Sallie Burkard (Costume Designer) Sallie Burkard (Costume Designer) Sallie is thrilled to be back at WCT. Previous designs include Candy Cane Tales And Holiday Carols, Honk!, and Seussical.
Karin Cunnghingham (Director) Since moving from Texas to Wisconsin in 2006, Karin feels so blessed to be a part of the WCT family that has allowed her to direct The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Miracle On 34th Street, and to play Lady Bracknell in The Importance Of Being Earnest, The Wardrobe in Disney’s Beauty & The Beast, Maggie Jones in 42nd Street, the Tour Guide in The Light In The Piazza, the Mayor’s wife in Bye Bye Birdie, Grace in Honk! and her favorite, Vinnie in Life With Father!
Donna Daniels (Helene Butler) Donna is very excited to be back on Civic’s stage after performing in last season’s Crimes Of The Heart as Lenny (one of her favorite roles). Another favorite role was Rita in Educating Rita. She is grateful to be reunited with Dan Hargarten and Jenny Kosek. Donna lives in Wauwatosa with her husband Tom and two beautiful daughters, Gracie and Sophie.
Sean Duncan (Michael Butler) Sean returns to the WCT stage where he played Conrad Birdie in last year’s production of Bye Bye Birdie. He has been in over 20 productions at UW-Waukesha (where he is a sophomore), Carroll University, Sunset Playhouse, Theater On Main, and OHS. Sean plans on transferring to the University of Whitewater as a BFA major.
Eric Eggers (Elliott Butler) Eric was last seen on the Pabst Theatre stage as Mr. Etches in Pius XI High School’s production of the musical Titanic last March. He thanks Karin for the chance to play a character who goes against his usual type. Previous Waukesha Civic roles include Alexander
“Sandy” Lord in The Philadelphia Story, M. D’Arque in Disney’s Beauty & The Beast, and Ralph in The Taffetas.
Dan Hargarten (George Butler) Dan has performed with many theatre groups in Southeastern Wisconsin. Some of his favorite roles are Sam Bick in Assassins, Saunders in Lend Me a Tenor, Frank in Over the River And Through The Woods, Froggy in The Foreigner and Chet in Over the Tavern. This is Dan’s fourth show with the Waukesha Civic Theatre. “It’s great to be back. I love you, Doll.”
Jenny Kosek (Janie Johnson) Jenny was last at WCT around this time last year for Crimes Of The Heart. Favorite roles at the PIX include Jo in Little Women, Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest, and Annie in Over the Tavern, where she was lucky to work with the talented dance team of Donna and Dan. “Thanks to Mom and Dad for coming to yet another one, and love to Matt, who’s pretty neat.”
Thomas Moore (Costume Designer) Thomas worked with Karin Cunningham on an Acacia’s production of Trip To Bountiful. It was his first community theater project since he moved to the area. Now he has teamed up with Karin again to design lights for Alone Together. An FSU alumni, he has been working in theater for well over 20 years. Lighting design is one of his favorite pastimes in theater.
Donna Redmer (Stage Manager) Donna is excited to be working for her 10th season at WCT. An “empty nester” herself, she has thoroughly enjoyed this play. She thanks Karin and the very talented cast and crew for letting her be part of the fun, and Mo and Michelle for all their help. “Miss you, Kris.”
John Santroch (Sound Designer) John thanks Alone Together Director Karin Cunningham for asking him to help her bring this once again timely play to life on the stage at Waukesha Civic Theatre. His past favorites include The Visit, The Woman In Black, A Christmas Story and most recently, Life With Father.
Monica Santroch (Co-Properties Designer) Monica would like to thank
5Waukesha Civic Theatre
B IOGR APHIES (c o n t.)
Karin for inviting her to co-design Alone Together. She would like to dedicate this show to Kris Kingstad and the WIB. “Hoping to make you proud, Kris!” Past shows at WCT include Crimes Of The Heart and Life With Father.
Sharon Sohner (Assistant Costume Designer) Sharon is delighted to be working with Sallie and Karin and such a talented cast and crew. Sharon has costumed many shows for WCT over the years. Her first was Anything Goes somewhere around 1973. Hope you enjoy the show!
Michael Talaska (Scenic Designer / Master Carpenter) Michael is excited to be designing at WCT again. He has been designing sets at WCT for over eleven years, past productions include; Crimes
Of The Heart, Seussical, 42nd Street, The Philadelphia Story, Whose Wives Are They Anyway?, Over The Tavern, Arsenic And Old Lace, The Wizard Of Oz, Red Hot & Cole and many others. Michael would like to thank Dan, Kevin, Pat, Becky and his Mom for all their help and support.
Michelle Tiarks (Co-Properties Designer) Michelle dedicates this show to the memory of Kris Kingstad, a fellow W.I.B. member who is greatly missed. Michelle knows that Kris is with us in spirit helping out backstage. “Seems like all the shows I’ve worked on with Kris they have had some kind of food in the show and this show is no exception.” Michelle also thanks Karen and Donna for allowing her to help out with props on this show.
DIRECTOR ’S NOTES
Being an empty-nester myself, with two almost grown (26 and 24 year old) boys, I can certainly relate to the very real and hilarious situation facing George and Helene of Alone Together! Bouncing like a pinball from the feelings of joy at the notion of finally being free again, to the guilt for wanting them gone, to worrying if they’ll survive, to the reality that you’re no longer needed and staring into the abyss of “what the hell do I do now?” is, unfortunately, what we as parents must all eventually
endure. I believe you’ll find Lawrence Roman’s depiction of this all-too-familiar situation has created some surprisingly deep and real characters that this amazing cast has brought to life with both humor and humility. I am so proud and humbled to have worked with both them and our very hard-working-crew. I sincerely hope you enjoy Alone Together!

SPOTLIGHT ON THE BOARD OF D IRECTORS
Welcome to the Waukesha Civic Theatre for our performance of Alone Together. This play by Laurence Roman is a throwback to the domestic farces of long ago, and more recently of sitcom fame. Picture yourself being an empty nester and having three grown children come back to live with you after they have encountered some hard times. (Sounds slightly familiar, doesn’t it?) Alone Together will make you laugh with this timeless treasure of a story about parents and their
children. It is a tender reminder of life and how kids come back when you least expect them to do so. Let the laughter fill you up. Share the good news with family and friends about our gem of a theatre right here in Waukesha. Don’t forget to come back again soon, or better yet become a season ticket holder so your seats will be automatically saved for you!
Thank you for attending our performance today. May the visit have lightened your day just a bit and brought back some of your own fond family memories. We will treat you like family and make you feel right at home! Relax, sit back, and enjoy the really good show!
Sincerely,Peggy Stoop, Board Director
P.S. As the Gala Chair for our Board, I would love to personally invite you to attend our Gala on April 15, 2011, That’s Entertainment: It’s A Grand Night! Funds raised help to operate our theatre and provide quality entertainment and education for many years to come. Please join us!
M AD CORNER
I would like to thank everyone that supports WCT! We wouldn’t be here without you. All of our volunteers help us out in any number of ways by acting, ushering, serving on the board of directors, providing maintenance or office support, or working on sets, costumes, props. Our patrons come to WCT to see quality live entertainment, the fruits of our volunteers’ labor. Our donors help keep us financially sound by their gifts to the Annual Operating Fund, the Endowment Fund, or by including us in their
planned giving. The generosity of the Waukesha community astounds me, and I truly appreciate all the time, talent, and money that you give to WCT. Enrich. Challenge. Entertain. That says it all, so keep watching, keep participating with, and keep supporting this cultural cornerstone. We couldn’t do it without you.

CIVIC BROADWAY SINGERS Are you looking for upbeat entertainment for your next special event? The Civic Broadway Singers perform year-round in southeast Wisconsin under the musical direction of Abby Lorenz. The 30-voice group sings memorable Broadway favorites for a variety of events from company picnics and Christmas parties to corporate lunches and grand openings. The Civic Broadway Singers provide their own piano and sound system and will perform for groups of all sizes in exchange for a donation to the theatre. For scheduling the Civic Broadway Singers at your next event, please call Abby at (414) 350-8713 or e-mail her at [email protected].
CIVIC SENIOR PLAYERS The Civic Senior Players are a dedicated group of Senior Citizens who have a craving to entertain others and who want to become skilled at it. The Players will devote time and energy to becoming actors. There is no charge to the seniors participating. This entertainment will be provided at no charge to any senior organization or residence and the only requirement is an audience of at least 20 who would enjoy some laughs and a good time. Donations to WCT are accepted. If you would like more information, call Carol at (262) 549-1091.
ACAP PLAYMAKERS provide daytime performances (often of original works) based upon school curricula, themes, and ideas relevant to children at various stages of their education. The fall PlayMakers production is geared to our elementary students, and the spring

THEATRE INFOR M ATION (c o n t.)
production is produced for middle school students. While offered primarily to school groups, these family-friendly shows are great for public, private, and home school groups, Boy and Girl Scout troops, senior centers, and your family! Tickets are only $5 (or $4 each for groups of 20 or more), please call (262) 547-0708. PlayMakers rehearse and perform in the daytime, and are always looking for new actors and technical personnel.
ACCESSIBILITY The Margaret Brate Bryant Civic Theatre Building is fully handicapped accessible and WCT is proud to offer a number of services for our patrons who have special needs (a four-week notice is required and services are based upon availability). For the hearing impaired we have a T-Coil Loop System, T-Coil Listening Devices, and FM listening devices that will amplify the sounds of the performance. Patrons must have hearing aids with telecoils installed and activated to use the Loop System. Patrons who are blind
can receive audio descriptive services for the performance. Wheelchair accessibility is available in two forms: transfer seats and wheelchair positions.
PATRONS Please refrain from wearing highly-scented colognes, perfumes, hand cream, or aftershave to performances, as many people have allergies or respiratory problems. WCT is concerned for all patrons and we appreciate your cooperation.
PARKING Parking is available on Main Street, in the Riverfront Plaza parking area behind the Theatre, off Barstow Street, in the parking facility on Broadway, and at other locations in downtown Waukesha.
REMINDER: As a courtesy to those who arrive on time, Late Comers will be seated at First Break!
