Excellence, Opportunity and Success

We would like to respectfully acknowledge the Elders past and present of the Wijabul Wiyabal people and other peoples of Bundjalung Nation.

We acknowledge that they are the first peoples of this land on which our school stands.

Netball Clinic For the past 4 weeks each Monday Jen from Netball NSW has been visiting LPS to work with yr 4 & 5 girls to develop

their skills in netball. The girls skills have come so far in just 4 sessions and I cannot wait to work with them next year

when making our school teams. I’ve been equally impressed with their attitude and effort each week towards the game,

the coach and each other. Well done girls!

Principal’s Report

2017 Kindergarten Transition

Today our 2017 Kindergarten students continued on their Transition ‘Big School’. Today they stayed until 1:30pm and were

able to experience having lunch and having a play in the playground. They have been participating in many different

activities in the Kindergarten classrooms. It is fantastic to see these young students having fun and looking forward to

starting Kindergarten. Families are reminded to complete necessary paperwork and return to the school office as soon as

possible.

2017 Year 7 High School Transition

Our Year 6 students also continued their Transition to High School program today with students attending The Rivers P-12

College campuses, Richmond River HS, Lismore HS and Kadina HS. Students are able to experience a range of lessons

and are familiarising themselves with a timetable to move from classroom to classroom. There will be another Transition

day next Tuesday 6th December. Students who are attending the Catholic Colleges or private schools will have received

transition information directly from their chosen school.

Christmas Carols night

Our annual Christmas Carols night will be held on Wednesday 7 December in the school grounds. We will be

joined by members of the Extension band which contains many ex-students of LPS. Students will lead the

singing of carols and each stage will also perform a short item to keep you entertained. I have also heard that

we may have a very special guest visiting during the night. The P&C will be operating the canteen with drinks

and food available. I encourage you all to come along for a very enjoyable night.

Farwell Mrs Hardy

Last Friday staff and students thanked Mrs Hardy for her efforts while at LPS. Next year she has taken a position at

Southern Cross School in Ballina. We wish her all the very best.

End of Term

The school year officially finishes on Friday 16th December for students and Tuesday 20

th December for staff. Students are

expected to attend school until the last day of term. If you are considering an early finish, you are obliged to apply for leave

through the school.
