Notes From the Pastor

My Dear Parishioners, This weekend is that wonderful me of year where I get to brag about the good work we do here at St. Dominic. Here are the numbers I discussed in the homily. You all do such good work. Excellent use of talent and me! The Food Pantry fed 152 families, 690 individuals and the Soup Kitchen served 950 people. We provided 17 Motel Vouchers, 35 Food Baskets, 20 Gas Cards. Our partnership with Fountain PD provided Christmas gi s for 160 children. 50 Individuals were served by our military outreach and we were able to provide 309 Community service hours for rehabilita on. We have 296 children in our RE classes and 35 people in Bible study. Last Easter we brought in 8 adults and 16 children into the Faith through RCIA and RCIC. We have been very close to our monthly goal for offertory this year, though in August we missed by $21,600 and last month we missed by $26,000. We need to make this up. Unfortunately, when it snows people don’t come to Mass and the offertory is less, but our costs are more due to heat and snow removal. It is very difficult for our church to absorb a $50,000 loss. This is why direct thing is so important.

Here is where you treasure is being put to work. Current Church Debt 4.3 Million - Monthly Mortgage Payment- $30,784.25 ($16,382.55 Interest and $14401.70 Principal) Here are some (but not all) monthly costs for your informa on: Monthly Salaries $28,865. Monthly U li es $10,825. Electric Bill $5,261. Monthly Tithe $7,727 Monthly Support of Diocese $14,258. Monthly Worship Cost $1,754. Monthly Prop & Liability $2,398. Here are some (but not all) annual costs for your informa on: Annual Prin ng Costs $12,497. Annual Contract Services $57,000. Annual Candle $ 3,500. Annual Office Supplies $4,000. Annual Postage $2,500. Thank you all for what you do for our church Your servant in Christ, Fr. John
