We are going to the Virginia Holocaust Museum.

Visiting the Virginia Holocaust Museum

The Museum is located in the city of Richmond on 2000 East Cary Street. When we arrive we will see cars, bikes, trucks and might possibly see and hear a train.

We will walk through the Museum entrance to the front desk, where we will be greeted by Museum staff. People at the front desk can help us.

We will be asked to take and wear a sticker that has the Museum logo on it.

Next we will have the option of watching a thirteen minute introductory film. (Discretion advised, graphic images).

After we watch the short film we will walk back to the desk to pick up the tour guide booklet. We can also ask questions and borrow noise reduction headphones or a light weight stool to use when we are walking around the exhibits.

When we are walking through Museum exhibits we are not able to touch the artifacts or photographs. We can take photos without the flash.

When walking through the exhibits please note that lights are on a timer and motion sensor. The exhibit room may be dark before you walk in but once you do a light will turn on (the light may make a noise when it turns on).

When we walk into each exhibit room there is text on the wall for us to read and artifacts for us to look at. We can also read information about each exhibit room in the tour guide booklet we picked up at the front desk.

If there are things we did not get to see or if we would like to know more about the Holocaust or the Museum we can look online at the Virginia Holocaust Museum’s website or visit the Museum again.
