GOLDENSEAM moved up the value chain 8 years ago when it set up its first bottom wear garment manufacturing unit in Bangalore. Today, it has evolved and created its own niche.

Innovation forms a very integral part of our philosophy, and hence to be able to create we need to be equipped with all the tools. Hence, along with planning a state of the art factory, in Bangalore, which is in south of India, we also house a fully equipped sampling unit. Factory, sampling unit and office is in the same premises so that all the development operations can be easily managed, and it also provides a comfortable factor for working hands-on with the tailors, the pattern-masters and designers.

INFRASTRUCTURE

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CELL

A Product Development Cell (PDC) has been specially formed to provide critical support to the complete value chain in terms of design and product development. Introduction of new products on a regular basis is the main motto of this department. Keeping a track of trends and forecast , we keep on delivering fresh and innovative ideas to our customers.These activities are being carried out under the same roof. Here, collections based on forecasts and season, are being offered to buyers.

Concept Generation: the design team research the trends for the season. They then develop a color palette and a silhouette chart, which is followed to design the collection stories.

Pattern-Development: depending on the complexity of the silhouette, the designs are converted into patterns manually and by the use of the CAD facility. The aim is to develop all the designs on the CAD so that the patterns are also documented and stored for future reference and work, but sometimes the need to get the right curves and patches require the pattern masters to work on the table.

Sewing : the tailors are instructed with the sewing directions and monitored for details by the designers and the sampling co-coordinator as well.

Washing & Finishing : as per the desired look, the trouser once stitched is subjected to a good garment wash and finished maintaining all the parameters of production.

Documentation: once the garment is finished, it is shot, labeled and a work-process chart if created by the designer for future reference by the production team.

Showroom & Presentation: we have a showroom in the office which houses all the styles created by the team, as well as developed for the buyers, so when we have customers, we can present our entire range to them. We also, participate in fairs such as Texworld, Paris and Hong Kong Fashion Week, to build our network on the international platform.

FACTORY

Equipped with high quality machines, we deliver the best of the products. Never compromising on the quality we produce 300,000 unit per month, using a setup of 1000 machines. Approximate production per day is 11500 units

The factory for the production orders is located in Bangalore, south of India. Bangalore is an apparel city and most of the leading exporters have their production unitshere, as labor is cheap and the facilities are very tuned for the garment export industry.Also, the other production units of the mother company are also located in Bangalore,hence the handling of over-all systems and organization is easier.

The factory also has its own sampling unit, where all the sales man sampling is done prior to the order. We have CAD/CAM facilities which makes production fast and accurate.

The closest ports for sea shipment are Chennai and Tuticorin, and for air, Bangalore has an international base. Hence, all the goods are inspected, packed and shipped out of Bangalore itself.

MAN - POWER

The factory have an administrative office, headed by the General Manager forProduction. The team comprises of assistant production managers and merchandisers, along with a documentation and accounts staff. Currently, the factory employs close to 2500 skilled workers for pattern-making, cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing.

All basic employee welfare schemes required by the government are followed and additional schemes are implemented gradually as per government labor rules.

Mr. Purshottam C. Mandhana

Purshottam C. Mandhana has got over 30 years of experience in the textile industry. He is a great administrator and a visionary entrepreneur. He is well versed with different textile technologies like dyeing and processing. He has successfully set up the weaving unit and has played a pivotal role in the modernisation of process unit. Under his administrative supervision, the company’s export division has shown spectacular performance. Presently, he spearheads the overall management of all the divisions of the company.

Mr. Manish Mandhana

Mr. Manish B. Mandhana has got 15 years of experience in the textile industry. He heads the export division of the group. His marketing and administrative abilities has seen the company’s export division grow tremendously. He is in tune with the latest trends in the international market and is well versed with the global fashion trends.

Mr. Sanjeev Mukhija

His family business, Nutech Global Ltd, in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, is a textile manufacturing company specializing in poly-viscose and poly-wool fabrics for suiting. He has played a key role in taking the company to the global market.

In the quest to build his own identity, he then moved to Mumbai, and set-up Goldenseam Textiles along with Mandhana Industries as its enterprise. Goldenseam Textiles, set up in 2004, aimed at taking the textiles manufactured at the Mandhana production centers into the export market. The company since has grown successfully, to build its own identity under his enthusiastic and creative guidance.

Growth and Expansion have always been his motto and in early 2005, looking at the widespread change taking place in the textile and garment industry, he aimed to set-up a bottom-wear manufacturing unit with Mandhana Industries. This new venture in turn, would make the entire Mandhana Group a ‘One Stop Shop’ for a buyer’s every need in textiles as well as clothing.
