ISB® Building SystemISB® Building System

ISB® Building System is the result of years of research and development that aims

to facilitate simple, fast and efficient construction in compliance with new market

demands and trends. In the course of our research and development, we placed

great emphasis on creating the simplest construction technology and building

kits in four structural versions.

ISB® PORO and ISB FIBER® systems that require the same method of construc-

tion, yet they can efficiently supplement each other.

The general principle of the structure

The primary principle is the load-bearing structure of the fabric reinforced grid,

whichis formed among the components of ISB® Building System after concreting.

The secondary principle – the insulation and airtight shell of the building without

the use of other ancillary items –is the building construction itself being formed

by the elements of the ISB® Building System.

Thermal insulation capacity U value between 0,387–0,134 W/m2K

Sound insulation capacity Rw value between 55,0–60,0 dB

Fire resistance TH value between 120–240 minutes

Flammability classification A1–A2

Water vapor permeability µ value between 3–9

Earthquake resistance up to 8.0 on the Richter scale,

the structure is earthquake-resistant

Environmentally For manufacturing, products which are

friendly producion currently widely used on the market are being

recycled, and the principle of recycling is fully

enforced when building the modules together.

With the use of the kit, building constructions meet the followingbasic requirements on a high level

Sustainable

n While the method ingeniously combines the advan-

tages of a traditional silicate based and lightweight

construction system, some elements of the kit form

a multi-purpose component in the full load-bearing

and structural system.

n Most building components of the ISB® Building Sys-

tem already include insulation materials and also

serve as a permanent formwork module at concret-

ing. In other words, the ISB® Building System is a

complex load-bearing and structural shell, a module

family suitable for producing a thermal shell with self-

supporting rigidity.

n To prepare the formwork modules of the ISB® Build-

ing System, the following materials are used: plaster,

gypsum fibre, rock wool, porous concrete, and for

the monolithic frame steel and special concrete.

n For the production of the ISB® Building System–rang-

ing from craft production, through semi-automatic

production units, to automated production line–

there are many possible methods, and during the in-

stallation of the modules, only labour force and some

traditional hand-tools are required.

n To fulfil the current (2013) requirements of building

energy standards, there is no need for any additional

thermal insulation later.

However, higher energy demands can easily be met,

either with subsequently placed related insulation

material, or – and this is again a major innovation –

with the use of ISB Premium units of the module fam-

ily advanced thermal parameters.

n The use of the modules of the family is regulated by

a simple but rigorous technology instruction (design

and construction). This will naturally be made available

for our contracting partners – after the conclusion

of the contract. If required, designers and installers

will be trained for the proper use of the technology

by our engineers. Candidates successfully completing

the course will receive a certificate of ISB® Special

Designer, or resp.ISB® Professional Contractor. The

license is valid for three years, and its continuity

is thereafter sustainable on completion of renewal

training. From time to time, the License Administ-

rator offers partners new developments, which are

also described within the frame of similar (exclusive)

vocational courses to those interested.

n So-called “fine-tuning” of the structure is also possi-

ble: e.g., increasing the size of the basic structural ribs,

and/or changing their position.

n In our subsequent developments, we aimed to in-

volve controlled quality clay with high purity, as well

as (desert) sand among our basic materials.

Specific features of the system

ISB® PORO Basic – Wall thickness: 20 cm

ISB® PORO Premium

Wall thickness: 40 cm

ISB® POROMODULE FAMILYThe building blocks are made of 300–350 kg/m3 density

porous concrete. Many lightweight concrete produc-

tion technologies without any additives exist around

the world, and all are suitable as local basic material for

the production of a variety of ISB wall and ceiling panels

of different thicknesses.

With the construction of structural elements, the stiff-

ening ribs are placed in the sewers, which provide

earthquake resistance. The ribs here must be filled with

concrete of 1500 kg/m3 +/- 50 kg/m3 density, pervious

or gypsum micro-concrete, which not only retains the

positive characteristic features of conventional high-

strength concrete, but also positively affects the prima-

ry energy balance of the structure.

ISB® FIBER Basic

Wall thickness: 20, 25, 30 cm

ISB® FIBER Premium

Wall thickness: 35 és 40 cm

ISB®FIBERMODULE FAMILYConsidering the module family, its primary component is cellular concrete, which works as a specific weapon to

ensure rapid solidification and ripening of the reinforced concrete texture at the internal surfaces of the crust,

while the exterior gypsum fibreboards form the final

inner or outer surface of the wall – creating a ready

surface for the finishing works.

The secondary component is mineral fibre that is re-

sponsible for the thermal and acoustic insulation of the

system, and for providing the fire resistance of the wall.

The third structural element is the monolithic reinforced

concrete grid, which ensures that the system is earth-

quake resistant and forms a rigid box-like wall and ceil-

ing structure.

n Wide range of structural size (200 mm to 400 mm

load-bearing wall).

n The 200-mm cross-section wall structure (ISB® Basic)

(U = 0.387 W/m2K) corresponds to the thermal trans-

mittance value of the traditional ceramic-shell walls

that can be found on the current domestic construc-

tion market.

n The 400-mm cross-section wall structure (ISB® Premi-

um) (U = 0.134 W/m2K) already meets the construc-

tion requirements of passive houses.

n It is extremely adaptable for attic- and extra-storey

construction, or for traditional renovations and up-

grades.

n Since the system is earthquake resistant, it is suitable

for the construction of new buildings in areas at risk

of earthquakes, and for reconstruction of disaster-

stricken areas.

Benefits of theISB® Building System

n Due to the possibility for rapid on-site construction

and installation, (as soon as the host structure is com-

pleted), the modular building time of one 100 m2 sin-

gle-storey, structurally complete residential building

is just 10 working days.

n Multi-storey office and apartment buildings of up to

five levels can be built.

n With the application of the ISB® System, both flat roof

and high roof structures can be constructed.

n A wide range of structural layers can be created,

making it adaptable to local climatic conditions all

over the world.

n The required raw materials are available all over the

world, and the tools for manufacture and building

are easy to transport. As a result, this technology can

be applied in all parts of the world.

n Both floor and roof constructions are available within

the system.

n The entire system can be used not only for construct-

ing new buildings, but is also suitable for joining “for-

eign” structures (see renovation, elongation, or attic

storey ... etc.).

Bengineer House Ltd., a solely Hungar-

ian family-owned private business, was founded

on 8 February 2010. The main profile of the com-

pany is to introduce and distribute the ISB® Build-

ing System on the Hungarian and the internatio-

nal market, while meeting its ever-changing demands.

The ISB® Building System was accomplished through a

variety of patented architectural processes from the early

1970s. Among others, it was the result of the further de-

velopment of the world-patented “Soform” technology.

The Senior System Developers have a wide range of

professional references behind them that can be found

in details on the company’s website, under the “Admin-

istrator References” section.

Renowned specialists and engineers of the Budapest

Technical University and ÉMI have actively participated

in its development. Our website provides further infor-

mation about their high standard professional activity

under the menu item „Our Partners”.

The ISB® Building System is patent-protected and

certified, licensed by ÉMI since 2010.
