This year’s CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE, 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday will feature the beautiful music of the Stone Church choir under the direction of G. Roberts Kolb, the traditional singing of “O Holy Night” by Rob and Lauralyn and, courtesy of the Stone Storytellers, appearances by several little-known biblical characters including a sleepy shepherd named Jahab (David Blanks) and an angel named Jabriel—don’t call me ‘Gabriel’—Scott Leonard.

LEFT: The sleepy shepherd Jahab takes a selfie.

RIGHT: The angel Jabriel (“Don’t call me Gabriel”) tries on his halo.

HOPE HOUSE WISH LIST: razors, coffee, sugar, deodorant, granulated garlic and

prayers. Please leave items in the Norton Room. Questions? Contact Ceil Gilbert,

853-8289.

COUNTRY PANTRY: Now the pantry is going back to the basics — peanut butter and

tuna fish are the two items they would like to collect for the month of January. Once again,

we will place donated items on the table in the front of the sanctuary to visibly remind us of

their need, and how thankful we are. Questions? Contact Judy LaGasse.

2015 PLEDGE ENVELOPES: Please pick up your box of pledge envelopes in the back

of the sanctuary.

O Lord, How Shall We Meet You (Tune: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”)

Paul Gerhardt, 1653 Trans. Catherine Winkworth, 1863 ~ Alt., Dennis Dewey 2007

1. O Lord, how shall we meet— you to welcome you aright? Your people long to greet— you, our hope and hearts’ delight. O kindle, Lord most ho—ly, a lamp within our breast, To— do that which pleas—es you best, pleases you best, To— do— that which pleas—es you best. 2. Love caused your incarna— tion, love gave you human birth. Your thirst for peace and whole— ness salvation brought to the earth. Your love beyond all tell— ing for all the human race, Brings you near to— save— and embrace, save and embrace, Brings you near— to— save— and embrace. 3. Abundant life you off— er, a life that will not die. You will not fail or leave— us as earthly treasures fly. Our hearts with joy now overflow our spirits to renew To— give you the praise that you are due, praise you are due, To— give— you the praise that you are due!
