We had a Teddy Bear’s picnic

To celebrate a wonderful tern 2, Kindy B had a Teddy Bear’s picnic on the last day of term.

We all brought our teddy bears (or favourite cuddly toy) and after showing them to the class in a special parade, we sorted them into big, medium, small and not a teddy bear. We had surprising results with most of our cuddly toys, NOT teddy bears!

As we have been reading “We’re going on a bear hunt” by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, we decided to go on our own bear hunt. Sadly the day was wet and rainy so we could not venture too far away on our hunt.

Off we went and our first obstacle was…uh oh…steps!

“We can’t go over them, we can’t go under them…we will have to go UP them!” UP UP UP we went.

Next, we came to room 4… “We can’t go over it, we can’t

go under it…we will have to go THROUGH it” we had to tiptoe though so we did not disturb the wonderful learning going on in room 4! So TIPTOE TIPTOE TIPTOE we went.

Our next obstacle was…uh oh…the ramp… “We can’t go

over it, we can’t go under it…we will have to go DOWN it” DOWN DOWN DOWN we went.

That led us to…uh oh…the Library… “We can’t go over it,

we can’t go under it…we will have to go through it” So we did not disturb the class in the library we had to go SSHH SSHH SSHH through it.

We then found ourselves at the undercover area where it was VERY dark and gloomy because of the weather. We carefully

ventured inside….there we found…A BEAR!!!!

QUICK, back through the library..sshh sshh sshh

up the ramp… up up up through room 4 tiptoe tiptoe tiptoe (Thank you Mrs Hide!), down the

steps…down down down and safely back to Kindy!

*PHEW*

We made it!

After we had recovered from our bear hunt, we played “Stick the nose on the Teddy Bear” with hilarious results.

We enjoyed our last day of term with our teddy bears and are looking forward to a happy, safe holiday!
