MORNING Quantum Global
Good Morning & Welcome to Friday's trading action at
Dalal Street, dated 19th July 2019.
SGX Nifty is seen holding ground this Friday morning on backdrop of
comments from Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman that foreign
investors could register as companies to get tax relief.
Our call of the day suggests caution will continue to be the
buzzword at Dalal Street. The street will struggle for direction as
sentiments are dented amidst lack of progress in the Beijing-
Washington tariff dispute — which remains a headache. Also
keeping upside capped will be the reports that the U.S. shot down
an Iranian drone it said was threatening a warship in the Strait of
Hormuz.
FIIs were again net sellers in Thursday's trade to the tune of
1404.86 crores.
The make-or-break support for Nifty seen at 11,471 mark.
Aggressive buying advised only above 11,707 mark.
But the good news for the bulls camp is that Oil prices have slipped
on backdrop of profit booking to $56 a barrel.
Meanwhile, commanding attention would be Q1 results of Reliance
Industries. The big question on investors mind would be: Will RIL
disappoint D-Street this quarter amidst a tough macro environment
for both refining and petchem segments?
Well, the street is expecting a muted growth, but that said
Reliance's telecom arm Jio may drive performance. Technically, the
stock appears weak with downside targets at 1227.
Now here are other key Q1 results to trickle in on this Friday:
RBL Bank, Dabur India, L&T Finance Holdings, InterGlobe Aviation,
Bandhan Bank, L&T Technology Services, ICICI Lombard General
Insurance Company, Hindustan Zinc, JM Financial, Phillips Carbon
Black.
Now lets analyze Q1 results which trickled in yesterday:
• ACC Q2: Profit grows 39.5 percent to Rs 455.7 crore versus Rs
326.7 crore, revenue increases 7.8 percent to Rs 4,149.8 crore

Technical Strategyversus Rs 3,848.3 crore YoY. Technically support for ACC seen
at 1451 zone.
• Rallis India Q1: Consolidated profit jumps to Rs 67.76 crore
versus Rs 54.74 crore; revenue rises to Rs 623.24 crore versus
Rs 573.11 crore YoY. We have a positive bias on RALLIES India
with long term perspective.
No traction seen for the bulls camp this Friday morning especilay
after yesterday's steep fall. There is again a possibility that the
benchmarks in today's session could wobble. We say so because:
• Elusive Trade Deal: Comments from President Donald Trump
on the lack of progress between Beijing and Washington in the
long-running dispute over trade and import tariffs.
• Foreign portfolio investors have pulled out Rs 4,120 crore in
the month of July till date, the highest outflow markets have
seen in 2019.
STOCKS TO WATCH:
• Our chart of the day suggests establishing short position in
stocks like UNION BANK OF INDIA, BANK OF INDIA and PEL
with interweek perspective.
• BULLISH STOCKS: APOLLO HOSPITALS, MCX, ULTRATECH,
NESTLE
• BEARISH STOCKS: APOLLO TYRES, MOTHERSON SUMI,
EICHER MOTORS, PAGE INDUSTRIES, CANARA BANK, IDBI,
IDEA, IDFC, INDUSIND BANK, LIC HOUSING FINANCE.
MUTHOOTH FINANCE, RELIANCE INDUSTRIES, PNB,
VEDANTA
• SHOW ME THE MONEY: Option Trade: BUY BIOCON 25th
July CE Strike Price 270 at CMP 1.60. Maximum Profit:
Outlook for Friday: Consolidation day likely.
The street will spy with one big eye on the Q1
results of RIL which is likely to trickle in today.
Technically, Reliance Industries' stock price
pattern appears weak at current levels.
The momentum oscillators are in sell mode
signaling further sharp down move. The stock
price is signaling a break down from a probable
lower consolidation zone on daily charts with a
probable resistance at psychological 1300 mark.
The stock is witnessing selling pressure after
consolidating between 1250-1311 zone for past
4-weeks. Major weakness on cards below its
intermediate May 2019 low at 1227.50.
Also the recent sequence of lower highs / lows is
intact in the daily and intraday charts with a
probable reverse flag breakdown on weekly
charts, indicating further weakness.
Reverse divergences on weekly and monthly
charts along with weakening momentum likely to
work as negative catalyst for the stock. The stock
is likely to be a underperformer going forward.
The 200-DMA of the stock is placed at 1229 zone
and this level shall act as strong support.
Establishing short positions between 1272-1285
zone should be the preferred trading strategy,
targeting May 2019 lows at 1227. Stop above
1311. Holding Period: 5 Days.

• Derivative data suggests that Maximum Call open interest (OI) of 34.72 lakh contracts were seen at the
12,000 strike price. It will act as a crucial resistance level for the July series. while Maximum Put open
interest of 26.05 lakh contracts were seen at 11,300 strike price. This 11,300 mark on Nifty will act as a
crucial support level for the July series.
GLOBAL CUES:
Overnight at Wall Street, all three benchmarks ended with minor gains on after data published by the
Philadelphia Fed showed that manufacturing activity rebounded strongly this month.
The positive takeaway was that benchmarks rebounded after spending most of the session in the red on
concerns about tepid earnings and ongoing trade tensions with China. New York Federal Reserve President
John Williams said the central bank’s wisest strategy is to cut interest rates at the first sign of economic
distress when interest rates are already low.
ECONOMIC CUES:
• Amidst trade tensions, India's June exports falls 9.7% to $25 billion.
• Wholesale price-based inflation declined for the second consecutive month to its 23-month low of 2.02%
in June.
• Retail inflation rose to 3.18% in the month of June 2019, reaching an eight-month high.
• India's industrial output softened to 3.1% month-on-month (MoM) in May from 3.4% in April.
• Slowing rural and tier 2/3 urban cities consumption growth reflected in falling two wheeler and car sales
since August 2018.
