We love to write. Recently we thought about the topic ’Only lollies should be sold in can- teens’. Here are some snippets from our writing. ‘I strongly believe they should not sell only lollies because they can give you a sweet tooth. This is so bad for you and not at all healthy.’ Bladyn ‘’If you keep on buying lollies you might rot your teeth and then you will have to pay for the dentist which costs a lot of money.’ Lauren ‘If you ate lollies all the time it wouldn’t be a treat anymore. We need a variety of food in our can- teens. Canteens should sell food like fruit you can have other food like chips, hot dogs and nuggets on special occasions.’ Harriet

Dear Parents / Caregivers End of Term 1 How did we get to the Easter holidays so quickly? It seems only last week our kindergarten children joined us. It certainly has been an action packed Term. We have provided many extra curricula ac-tivities this term such as Bravehearts a personal protection program for children in years K -2. A Rugby Gala Day, Swimming Carnival, a trip around the world to visit many exciting countries to experi-ence their culture. Interest groups commenced which included Sport, Art & Craft, Drama, Garden-ing and Dance. We held a crazy mask day and a school Disco supported by our hard working P & C and Buxton staff. We have started a program called Genius Hour which has been just amazing. This project has children working weekends with-out being asked! Genius hour projects will be showcased next term so expect to be dazzled. Easter Activities We hope you can join us for our Easter activities tomorrow. Rumour has it a special furry guest will be paying us a visit. So we will make sure we have plenty of carrots available for this guest. Please come along and join the fun by wearing your East-er Bonnet/hat and be ready to join in the fun with your child. Tooth Fairy The mobile dentist will be visiting us next term. Thank you to all those of you who returned the documentation required. If you have misplaced your form the office has copies. Emails We appreciate how busy everyone is and finding time to read notes is almost non-existent. As most homes these days have Internet access via smart phones, tablets and computers we would like to trial school information being sent to you via Email. We would not flood your Email account as infor-mation would only be sent out Wednesdays of each week. If you would prefer contact through Email could you please let us know by emailing your con-tact details to the school Email at, [email protected]

Talk to Your Teacher Should you have any concerns regarding your child’s learning you can make an appointment to speak to your child teacher before and after school. Annual School Report (ASR) From the 2nd of May the ASR will be placed on our website. The ASR reflects the schools progress to-wards targets and gives an overview of the 2014 school year. I have placed several pictures of your children throughout the report. Deadlines and Cut Off Dates When we give cut off dates for excursions, camps, incursions and other school activities for a variety of organisational reasons. At times it is because payments and final numbers are required by the companies we deal with. When cut off dates or deadlines are not met it causes problems for us, such as losing our booking or worse causing your child(ren) to miss out or become disappointed. We would really appreciate you observing deadlines. At the same time if you need to speak to us about a delay or a problem please come and talk to us. We promise we won’t bite! I will be taking leave from the 1st of May until the late in the term. The school will be left in Mrs Da-vies very capable hands as acting Principal until I return. Mrs. Neich and Ms Twist will be acting ex-ecutives for Term 2. Mrs. Hernandez will be taking 3/4O. Term 2 of School commences on the 21st of April for all students. Thank you all very much for your support in learn-ing and achieving this term. Loraine

Murray Ray who competed in the State Swimming Carnival last Wednesday and Thursday. Well done!!
