We Upstate
I love that orange and blue is a fashionable color scheme, no matter the occasion.

Not surprisingly, we love CNY because of the quantity & high quality of arts & culture here. We're so lucky!

Let us count the ways: Something to do in every season, great NNY communities & neighbors, visiting our Canadian friends, terrific business partners for our students, four seasons of fun in Adirondacks ... a great place to live, work & learn!

I love the [Syracuse] Regional Market and the locavore movement. It is incredibly inspiring to have a group of people advocating good health, knowledge regarding consumption, responsibility to the earth and development of a community.

I love upstate’s waterfront! Miles and miles of shoreline along Lake Erie, the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. Beautiful vistas, great recreational opportunities and yes … awesome lake effect snow storms. The only thing better than living near a Great Lake is living near two Great Lakes.

What I love most about upstate is that amazing moment when winter has melted away, and the signs of spring are everywhere: the snowdrops and crocuses in our front yard, the sound of song birds as they return, and the gentle green haze of buds that covers our trees.

I have four letters that explain a lot of what I love about Upstate NY: W - R - V - O.

Love is complicated and so is upstate. Love can bring the highest highs and the lowest lows and so can upstate. Love is beautiful but can sting at any time with heartbreak. Upstate is pretty much the same as that.

[Upstate towns], partly decayed and yet still quite beautiful, have a transparent relationship to history: so much of the past is still visible in their ruins and remnants.
