My family is the most important thing to me.

-Trinh For Trinh, home is where her family gathers—to play, to eat, to rest. “My family is the most important thing to me,” she says.

One way she shows her family love is by doing chores around the house. She helps her family by bathing her little sister, Trang,

showing her how to wash her hands and helping her with schoolwork. Trinh likes washing the teapot and cups and collecting eggs

from the ducks. Often, Trinh will ride her bike to get medicine for her parents when they are sick.

Trinh likes to catch dragonflies and crickets with her sister. Since her house is surrounded by rice fields, and coconut and bamboo

trees, there’s plenty of places for the sisters to play. But the house is also near a river, and when storms pass through, Trinh’s home

often fills with water. “I wish I would have a house that is not wet or leaky and would not flood anymore,” says Trinh.

In Vietnam, CRS is working with students like Trinh, helping them to learn ways to protect their home, food and family from

destructive storms. Trinh is happy that she can apply what she learned in school to help her family.

Drinking in Christ. Let us not grumble like the people in the desert. For we stand in the grace of God who pours divine love into our hearts and being. Let us stay in conversation with Jesus just as the Samaritan woman did at the well through our prayer and lenten reading.

What grumbling, what complaining will I stop doing? How will I make time each day to pray and converse with God? How will I be a sign of healing and support to the elect thirsting for Easter Baptism?

Mark your calendar for Life Advocacy Day at the State Capitol - Wednesday, March 18, 2020, 10:00-1:00. Lunch will be provided. Check future bulletins for further information.

St. Patrick General

No Greater Love – A Lenten Pilgrimage

Our next Lenten pilgrimage will be held on Sunday, March 15, 6:30 pm, at Sacred Heart Church, Virden. This session will focus on

these verses: Matthew 27:1-31; Mark 15:1-20: Luke 23:1-25: and John 18:28-19:16.

Jesus has been condemned to death by the Sanhedrin but they do not have the authority to carry out capital punishment. They must work with the Roman governor Pontius Pilate and convince him to crucify Jesus. Pilate knew Jesus was

innocent but the chief priests keep pressuring him and start to stir up the people into a riot. After having Jesus scourged

and crowned with thorns, he succumbs to the pressure and sends the innocent Jesus off to be crucified.

Join us on our journey with Christ through his Passion
