specialized in sealing passenger luggage. The company

started its operations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

(AMS) back in 1999. Currently, Seal & Go operates on

17 airports and is still expanding.

HISTORY

Seal & Go BV was founded in 1999, when started its

services at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) in

The Netherlands. It all began with two simple sealing

machines located in the departure hall. In 2004 Mr. Rijkhoff

(since 2003 owner of Seal & Go) initiated the development

of an entirely new and technically advanced sealing machine.

Nowadays, the fastest Seal & Go machine is able to

process up to 5 pieces of luggage a minute.

Travel products

AMS grew from 36,4 million passengers in 1999 to over

58.2 million passengers in 2015. To add more value to the

airport, Seal & Go introduced a complete range of travel

security and travel comfort products. Items such as

suitcases, neck pillows, suitcase covers and stroller covers,

TSA approved locks and flight socks.

Worldwide

Having the AMS based service and experience, the company

was capable to grow and expand abroad. In 2007 Seal & Go

started operating in Namibia (Windhoek Hosea Kutako

International Airport), followed by not less than 10 airports

across Russia, Surinam in 2012 and Qatar in 2014. In 2015

Seal & Go entered Oman and Curacao. All expansions are

realized in cooperation with trusted local business partners.

Due to this ongoing success of setting new standards and

Unique advertising

We provide a very unique advertising opportunity: your

business logo can be printed on the sealing foil. Every day

hundreds (or even thousands) pieces of luggage will be sealed

and carried around the entire airport with your logo on it.

Sealing odd shapes

Seal & Go can seal all sorts of luggage items. Besides

small and large suitcases it is also possible to seal odd

shaped items such as golf bags, backpacks, boxes, and

all kind of bags.

What is sealing?

Adding just one layer of very strong, transparent foil around

the luggage exterior, ‘shrink-sealing’ is a unique method.

It ensures a high level of security and protection, while the

process takes less than one minute. The sealing process is

fully or semi-automatic, requiring just a few simple actions by

trained staff members, thanks to an easy-to-use touch screen

interface.

How it works

The luggage goes into the machine, where the

shrinking foil is wrapped automatically around it.

The machine seals the ends of the foil together.

The foil is heated by the machine to a minimum

extent. Due to the heat, the foil shrinks tightly around

the luggage. This results in a sealed piece of luggage.

To retain the functionality of the luggage, it is easy to

remove the foil at handles and wheels.

Foil

Seal & Go uses shrinking foil, causing a lower environmental

footprint. Less foil is used opposed to stretch wrapping.

Less foil means less raw production materials. Resulting in a

greener process. The foil is tested in compliance with directive

91/155/EEC and is not toxicologically, ecologically and/or

environmentally harmful.

Sealing machines have a higher capacity

• A sealing machine processes up to 10 pieces of luggage

in 2 minutes, while a wrapping machine processes only

1 piece of luggage in 2 minutes.

• Waiting queues are prevented, improving the passenger

flow.

• Groups of passengers can be served quickly.

• The higher service level results in higher customer

satisfaction.

• Due to its capacity, one seal machine can replace multiple

wrapping machines, saving space in the crowded airport

environment.

Sealing foil is unique

• Sealing foil is stronger and tighter.

• Sealing foil offers more protection by protecting the

whole piece of luggage instead of leaving an unprotected

bottom.

• Sealed luggage stays identifiable due to the transparency

of the foil. Wrapped luggage becomes unrecognisable.

• Sealed luggage looks clean and classy. Wrapped luggage

looks simple and cheap.

• Shrink foil can only be used in combination with a sealing

machine. Stretch foil can be bought everywhere, making

it possible for everyone to unwrap luggage and re-wrap

luggage without anyone noticing.

• It is possible to print advertisements on our sealing foil.

SEALING VS. WRAPPINGWrapping machines use stretch foil. Luggage is placed in a stand. This stand spins around, whereby multiple layers

of stretch foil are wrapped around the luggage. Due to the stretch of the foil, the foil sticks to the wrapped luggage.

Sometimes, the loose end is secured by a sticker. Compared to wrapping, sealing shows lots of advantages:

Sealing machines are more sophisticated

• Sealing machines meet the highest European safety

regulations and worldwide airport regulations.

• Sealing machines have several counting and control

mechanisms, so every sealing is counted and has to be

accounted for. This reduces the chance of theft by

employees. Wrapping machines do usually not have

such a mechanism and quantity of used foil is hardly

controllable.

• Sealing machines have a remote control. This makes

it possible to log in on the control system of the machine,

checking counting mechanisms, machine logs, etc.

• Sealing machines are user friendly; most of the work is

automatically done by the machine.

Sealing is environmental friendlier

• Sealing only needs one layer of shrink foil of approximately

2 meters. Wrapping needs multiple layers of stretch foil

of approximately 20 meters.

• Sealing foil only adds around 75 grams to the luggage.

Wrapping foil adds around 200 grams.

• Less foil results in less pollution, less transport weight,

less raw production materials, etc.

The sealing process has a higher service level

• Due to the higher capacity, passengers are able to

continue their check-in / bag drop faster.

• The employee at the wrapping machine is only busy with

wrapping luggage. While the employees at the sealing

machine have more time to offer customer attention.

• Seal & Go is one of the few companies offering both

travel products and sealing service.

Sealed luggage causes no problems to baggage

transportation systems

• Tests at Amsterdam Airports Schiphol and Doha Inter-

national Airport showed that sealed luggage improves

the working of baggage transportation systems.

Sealed luggage never caused any problems to baggage

transportation systems at airports. Stretch foil used

for wrapping has loose ends and may even unwrap.

This can cause problems in the baggage system.

• Sealed luggage is protected against damage and theft.

• Sealed luggage is less likely to be lost during travelling

as a result of the Seal & Trace sticker.

2-way remote access to operating systems

With remote access the machine can be checked on system

logs, settings and counting mechanism, at any time or place.

Also the operating system can be updated without down-

time of the machine.

Automatic counting mechanism

Sensors automatically record and count all sealings.

Using remote access, the counting mechanism can be

monitored. The amount of sealings in the cash registers

can be verified using these counters with several

authorization levels. Also, theft by operating staff will

be prevented.

Automatic and manual safety brakes

Next to automatic safety brakes, the machine can be

stopped immediately by pressing the red buttons.

Touch-screen control panels

The control panels make operation extremely intuitive

and user-friendly.

CCTV on machine

An advanced camera system records the entire sealing

process. This enables monitoring the usage and safety

of the sealing machine. It also monitors the operating staff.

Integrated TV screens

The integrated TV screens make it possible to show videos

explaining the process of sealing, or advertisements

of retail products.

Maintenance program

A special maintenance program ensures that the machines

stay clean and tidy. The maintenance program reduces

break downs to a minimum.

Service desks

The orange/white coloured Seal & Go service desks are

easy to spot and catch the eye with their innovative

design. There are also visual merchandising possibilities

available, such as store displays for Seal & Go retail

products and Seal & Go company clothes.

How it works

In 2015 Seal & Trace has been developed to help trace missing luggage.

A Seal & Trace sticker with a unique QR code corresponds with an

advanced worldwide online luggage tracing system, accessible by

internet. The passenger is able to register its luggage with contact

details. This can be done before travelling or even when luggage already

has gone missing. Once registered online, the luggage will be traceable.

The sticker tells the finder to scan the barcode with a smartphone or

log on to the Seal & Trace portal with the unique QR code and follow the

instructions online. Of course, for safety reasons, the finder is not able

to find any identity data of the owner. The portal will send an automatic

alert to a cell phone or e-mail address of the owner. With the provided

information the owner can get in touch with the finder and make an

arrangement to pick up the lost luggage.
