A SUCCESS STORY: CODERE PANAMA

The ChallengeIn 2014, CoderePanama posed the challenge of replacing all

the wiring that connected its gaming machines to the Win

Systems cashier system in one of its casinos.

The casino was newly renovated and could not install a

technical floor for its architectural features, just as the

carpet that covered the room did not facilitate the

management of the wiring or its change to new locations

by adding new tubing for installation.

INTERCONNECTION OF SLOT MACHINES

BY WIFI INCLUDING INTEGRATION WITH

THE MGM SYSTEM IN CODERE PANAMA.

To this was added the constant requests for relocation of

slots in places that often did not have an ethernet

output, which made Codere take time to eliminate the

problems arising from installations and movements of

machines without the costs they will increase with

respect to the structured cable and also facilitate, in

passing, the connection of any device in the room with

the little temporary margin that sometimes represents

the operational demand.

The SolutionAfter analyzing the problem, it was decided to implement a Secure Wi -Fi network combining different

technologies such as Fortinet/Meru and Mikrotik. With this mix, Density managed to achieve several objectives: a

robust and reliable Wi-Fi network, where flexibility was given to create several networks in separate and secure

VLANs (machines, tables, PCs and IP telephony) and not to mix the traffic coming from different sources.

In addition, it was possible to avoid the dust and temperature problems that usually occur in the bases of the

machines, thus making a final environment much more stable, flexible and reliable than the wired network,

lowering the costs and implementation times.
