Just a minute or two please.........

One has to strive concomitantly to LIVEthe GADHYA MANTRA and in case of anydifficulty at the least must maintqain theBHAWA to do so. It is not SIMPLY asecured ticket issued by a person affilitedto its original direct receiver Shri Vallabhfrom the divinity incarnated as Shrinathji,to enter VAIKUNTH regardless of the factwhatever we think or whatever way we liveentangled in LAOKIKTA(common wordlyliving).

GADYAMANTRA (BRAHAMASAMBANDH)is in fact our true constitution to liveaccordingly or try not to live and doanything else that does not come withinits defined parameters. We mostly liveignorantly in self deception misguidedthough but not without our own consentthat is a result of our own latent LOKIK orAASURI BHAWA that in fact Shri Vallabhcompassionately wants to free us from inthis horrible YUGA of KALI. It is not a caseof simple naivety but desired AASURIBHAVA that we cunningly do not want tobe from like any such case of addition toa drug.

Mahaprabhuji Shri Vallabhacharya hasblessed us with umpteen options ofpractice to reach that state of our livingand playing the assigned role regardlessof the space and time. However having at

our sight appropriate birds eye view of theways and system he has completesurrender for perpetutity and thus beattached to him t imelessly that is ASADANDHA, PARMANDA.

To be bereft any KUNTHA(Frustration) isto be living in the VANIKUNTH, GOLOK orsimilar state of the existence. A state ofblissful consciousness at all the levels ofour existence sustains regardless of ourbeing in any space and t ime be i tSANSARA, JAGAT or even a LOKA of morecomplex nature as far the SHTAI BHAWASof DASOASMI and TAWSMI sustain. Novariety of actuality of any material worldmatters regardless of the role assigned asany kind of a JIWATMA and the same canbe relished just like an actor relishes acharacter assigned to him or her whateverother role and gender.

GRAH SEWA or serving SEWA SWARUP ofour own beloved THAKURJI in a completeprivacy l ike in any case of LOVE asprescribed by the ACHARYAS of earliert imes within and with the whateverlimitations and circumstances we are into. The TAKUR we can not touch is not ourbeloved SEWYA SWARUP all the rest ofpresentation in the name of PUSHTIMARGis simply something else but NEVER theMARG as prescribed by Mahaprabhu ShriVallbhacharyaji.

PROFILE

MY STORY- FROM RAGS TO RICHES

By Sobhraj J. Gajria

I was born in Karachi on5th December 1913. MyFather had partially losthis eye sight and he putme in business when Iwas

about 13 years of age. I was assisting him inhis shop in Saddar-Karachi, but I had a greatdesire to study. In 1927 Ihad to go toThatta(Sind), and I told my grand-mother-myfather's mother Puj Rupibai-that I would liketo study. She told meto stay with her and notto join my father's business. My father camerushing to Thatta to take me back, but mygrand-mother refused to leave me. Shearranged my admission in NaraindasGangaram Anglo-Vernacular (N.G.A.V.)School in Thatta in standard 3. As I had leftmy studies I was very much backward and inArithmetic Examination Isecured 5 marks outof 100!!

My grand-mother died in 1929, and as therewere no further educational facilities inThatta, my mother with me and my twobrothers shifted to Karachi. In Karachi myfather's sister Puj Gokibai and her son PujGodhubha helped us to start a home. I joinedModern High School in Std. 6 and thenchanged to N.J. High school, a Governmentinstitution , in Std. 7(Matric).

It was difficult for us to maintain ourselves inthe city of Karachi. We had to pay rent of Rs.

TRIBUTE TO 100THBIRTH ANNIVERSARY

7 per month for the room in which we wereliving. As we were late in paying the rent, the landlord would come to remind ourmother that the rent is liked a "Sun's horse"-it keeps running all the time. Seeing suchdifficulties I told my mother that I would goand work to relieve the financial hardship, but my mother gave me a loving slap andsaid " Look here my son, I am your motherand your Father, you must passMatriculation and then you can do what youlike'". These words of my mother still ring inmy ears, and my brothers and I greatlyadmire her strenght of mind and thesacrifices she made to bring us up. Up toher last days she had no attachment withthe world, and she was even unable to keepany money with her. Our mother PujGomtibai was a Devi and is rememberedwith respect by all members of the familyand those who knew her.

While I was in Std. 6 I gave tuition to otherboys. I saw that many people were not ableto get clerical jobs , but stenographers werein demand. So I started learning Shorthandand typing and by the time I passedmatriculation in 1931 I had completed mystenographer's course. With a friend's helpI got a job in Imperial Chemical Industries(I.C.I) in Karachi in a leave vacancy. I hadto take dictation from a European. Havingbeen educated in a village I could notunderstand his pronunciations with theresult that I could not type correctly whathe dictated. I used to come home and weepfor my inefficiency. However, with the helpof a colleague I carried on the job for sixmonths.

One fine evening my shorthand teacher, Mr.T.S.Padmanabhan called at our house andsuggested that I apply for a job in IMPERIALAIRWAYS and I started working with themfrom 1st August 1933. This company waslater called BRITISH OVERSEAS AIRWAYSCORPORATION (B.O.A.C.) and is nowknown as BRITISH AIRWAYS. After partitionof INDIA I was transferred to BAHRAIN in1974 where I worked for 10 years and then Iwas transferred to CALCUTTA. I retired frpmthe Co. on 31 December 1971.

I landed in DUBAI in April 1972 and with thehelp of Maghabha and his brotherDamoobha, I got a job in a leading Bank herewithin two days of my arriva DUBAI thenlooked like a small village with modernamenities. The present generation in theGULF may continue working with honour anddignity but keep a base at home.

Many people ask me why Iam still working. In fact, Iam a mere instrument in HIS hand.Shri Ramakrishna hassaid"I am a machine,God is the operator, I am a house, God isthe indweller. Iam a carriage, God is thedriver". A learned Swami advises "Work isworship, consider that all the work you do isgod's work. If you can work with this idea, your work will not bind you. On the contraryit will improve you spiritually, mentally andphysically". This is really true as Ihave foundfrom my personal experience.

I know the passing away of a loved one is adifficult time but here is the procedure forcremation of a deceased person havingDubai Visa who passes away under naturalcircumstances at home in Sharjah just so asto one knows what needs to be done andhow to go about it.

1. Once the person passes away one needsto intimate the police on 999 who will referyou to an ambulance and the medics. Themedics arrive promptly and see the historyfile, if available, and try to give medicalattention before pronouncing the persondead. They ask and note the ime of death. Then the polce from the closet station comein and verify the scene. They take thedeceased person's passport, ID and that ofthe reporting person-ID and labor card. Thebody is then transferred to the Kuwaitihospital Sharhah mortuary fior a doctorreport.

2. The doctor after seeing the treatment anddiagnosis file and examination gives you thedoctor report and death notification.

3. The report and death notification has tobe taken to the closet police station of yourarea and you need to inform them whetheryou will take the body to India or you willcrenate here either in Sharjah or Dubai.

4. The new crematorium in Sharjah is not yetready and will be functional in approximately2 weeks time. The old place of cremation inSharjah is on the airport road ahead of thecement factory. Personal note that this placeis not recommended unless there is no otheroption. So if a Dubai visa exist you can askthe body to be cremated in Jebel Ali Sonapur.I doubt a person with Sharjah visa can becremated in Dubai.

5. At this point the police make their report

7. Head to the AI Khan court prosecutiondept opp. Jazira park in Sharjah, The filesfrom all police station come in at 10.30 amand then you will be referred to a room tomeet the prosecutor. He will see the policefile and give you a paper for the ministry ofhealth for the death certificate, This processat the court can be time consuming but canbe quick if the death is natural and thedoctor at the hospital and the forensic doctorat the court has not asked for an autopsy.

8. Take the paper to the ministry of healthon AI WAHDA road opp Gold centre behindtheIndian school. Their office is on the firstfloor. Type the papers from their office theirand they will give you a death certificate.

9. Take the death certificate to the policeheadquarters in Sharjah, pay 1000 AED andthey will give 4 envelopes. One is for theSharjah municipalty ambulance service, another for the hospital, third for themortuary, final for Dubai policeheadquarters. At this point make sure thebody lies at the mortuary in the Kuwaitihospital and has not been shifted to the mainmortuary near the traffic dept. in Sharjah. Ifit has then you can ask the police to give

you another envelope for this mortuaryclearance too.

10. Head to Dubai police headquarters CIDbuilding near AI Mulla Plaza. They don't takemuch time and give you clearance inapproxmimately 15-20 minutes. They workafter hours too.

11. Take this clearance to the Ghusaissonapur or cenetary Dubai Municipalty officeto get clearance to use the Jebel Ali Sonapuror crematorium. They charge 1010 AEDHERE.

12. Call the Sharjah municipalty ambulanceto the hospital. Give the papers to thehospital and mortuary and you can claim thebody.

13. Make prior arrangements by calling thecrematourim in advance and inform allrelatives n friends including the Maharaj tobe there.

14. At the crematorium they take 2500 AEDand 500 AED as deposit which they returnwhen all formalities and paper work iscompleted and the remains are collected forvisarjan within10 days.

15. Later after few days you can visit theIndian Consulate in Dubai and register thedeath by filling in 2 forms available onlineand get a death noification from them tooand get the passport of the deceasedcancelled.

16. Lastly the visa of the deceased has tobe cancelled form the DNRD and anyone ontheir sponsorship needs to be sponsord bythe kin.

PAST PRESENT &FUTURE

The concept of Panchayat evolved inancient India and is one of the oldestdemocratic systems still in use today. Itsroots lie in the village council which waslater ref ined to accomodate, onoccasions, a written constitution for thevillage during (Pandya dynasty). TheChola dynasty was one of the ancientkingdoms to realize the importance of selfgovernance and did a lot to give morepowers at the grass roots level aswitnessed by stone carvings Tamil Nadu.

PUJYA PANCHAYAT & ITS INEVITABLEROLE IN OUR LIFEThere have been questions raised by someamong us in regards to the use of functionalityof this institute and its long term purpose tosuch queries we have on several ocasionsattempted to put across the thoughts in favorof this project. I personally believe thatreaching this stage of work in itself is a proofof the fact that there exists considerablenumber of members who are convinced thatthe PUJYA PANCHAYAT or more specificallyPUJYA MAHAJAN can never be disassociatedfrom our fundamental sense of belongings tothe community and is still well embedded in oursocial psyche thought in a latent mode. Mostof us generally mistake some other CommunityInstitutes here & abroad as a PANCHAYAT oras the kind of substitutes. This too is a proofof our intrinsic urge & natural need for such acommunity association. In quiny essence it is indeed the soul ofcommunity, and all other Community bodieshere or abroad, though physically andmaterially bigger & richer or whatever else, infect are but its physical limbs Supplementaryand complimentary extensions. It is a fact thatsome among us associated with suchsegregated community organization seek todisassociate themselves from all othercommunity Organization forgetting that thespace and time are two variables in our livesbut mind you when a person is lifted for his lastjourney. The first sentence supposed to beuttered that is BOLOBHAI PANCHAYAT RAM. Ihope the message is well received in a goodspirit. My appeal to such brethern is toalsoremain associated with the community as wholeand that is what PUJYA PANCHAYAT is in itstrue sense and spirit.PUJYA PANCHAYAT has a bigger role in ourcommunity Happy Moments like Birth, Janoi areshared with the community. We are extending our congratulation to marriedcouple who are celebrated their birthday, wedding anniversery in month of January 2014.

WHAT OUR VETERAN SENIORMEMBERS SAY ABOUT PUJ THATHAIBHATIA PANCHAYAT

Late Shri Madan Kikla:- Shree ThathaiBhatia Puj Panchayat has to be restoredto its due place in the community. This isthe oldest parent body with the oldestrecords of existence on the life of ourcommunity. We hope that everybody willcome forward to help the August bodygrow in size, commitment and a symbol ofthe community where everyone remain anequal person a member without beingaffected by material ups & down.

My one question which may always in mymind-that in spite of all resources ourcommunity has- why did we fail to establishour Puj Panchayat in its proper place evenafter fifty eight years of independence.

I am quoting few l ines told in pre-independence era applicable to? Indians:-

"We are all knit together by bonds of blood.None can segregate us and no impassablebarriers can be set up between us.

(Ram C. Bhatia)

All said & done; the committee had set itstarget on two priorities throughout te year

1) Bring awareness among the membersthat "Panchayat " does exist and

2) Try to vision a project whereby thepanchayat can have its own sustenance;there is a lot of confusion among manymembers wether they are members ofTBSF/Kewal Baugh or Panchayat?

PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE OF

THATHAI BHATIA SHEWA FUND

The idea of setting up a permanent relief

in statue, now Known as "THATHAI

BHATIA SHEWA FUND" sprang up as

plague relief fund was mooted by some

dedicated Bhatias on 31.12.1918, then

known as Thathai Bhatia plague Relief

fund. The calamity caused by this was

deadly disease prompted Kikla brothers.

Shri Maghanlal and Gordhandas, sons

of Assanmal, to set up a permanent

Fund. Both the brothers appealed to

Bhatia community to help bhatias and

s is ters who were a f fec ted by th is

dreadfu l ep idemic . The donat ions

poured in from all Bhatias living Thatta.

Hyderabad, Bombay, Karach i ,

Nathdwara, Baharain and other places.

Lohanas also contributed their mite to

this fund. With the success of this relief

fund, Kikla brothers,together with other

bhatias, decided to start a permanent

institution which can render service to

Bhat ia communi ty a t t imes of the i r

difficulty and need. The first meeting was

ca l led on 7-10-1918 under the

pres identsh ip o f shr i Damodardas

Hemandas at Bombay. Unfortunately, this

effort was not successful. Undaunted,

the well-wishers held another get to-

gather at Thatta on 16-2-1919 under the

presidentship of Sardar Mukhi Jeramdas

Versimal and it was unanimously decided

to establish Thathai Bhatia Shewa Fund.

This is now our shewa fund came in to

participants signed the following pledge

and they decided to work as volunteers:

"I, the undersigned declare that I have

become themember of Thatia Bhatia

always do best to work for the interest

of the fund and endeavour to enhance

it"

THATHAI BHATIA SHEWA FUND.Remarks of a Bhatia Deputy Collectorfrom Visitor's Book.I am indebted to Mr. M.A. Kikla for theinvitation to attend the Thathai Bhatia ShewaFund Meeting today. I am greatly pleased tobe introduced to the present members. Mr.Kikla's address tracing the History of theformation of the Fund from the beginningup to date is a story of how patience andperseverance overcome mountain and howone man's untiring zeal can knit together intoa solid mass what is otherwise a flaccidfloating incoherent material. Bhatia's all overSind are the same but while elsewhere youcan hear hands joined together in the causeof the uplift of the Community. What is thisdue to? Only one answer is possible Viz: TheKikla Brother's Loyalty to the Community towhich they have made their own, and aboveall to their supreme sense of organisationwhich makes them place everything onsound scientific basis, above the reach ofthe personal pique or party manipulation.Funds are collected with a perseverance thatdoes honour to them that show it. Collectionsare invested with sole eye to their safteyand unfailing yield in interest. Capital isdistinguished from income and budget isframed only on the basis of the latter. SocialService is the objective aimed at. Just atpresent it is macked at from 3 points of viewViz: Health, Education & Statistics andwomen is the chief object of solicitude ofthese various activities. A dispenseryprimarily for the service of the women of theCommunity is kept going under MissChatterji. A Gifted Lady endowed with somewhat abundant supply of "Mother's Milk". AHuge Building to serve as a Maternity Homeis in the course of construction and no doubtwhen completed it will meet a badly felt want.Birth & Death Registers for the Communityare maintained.

Hats off to the organizers. My heartiestcongratulations to them and my sincerestwishes in the success of their cause. I only

wish Bhatia Brothers at other places, tooka leaf out of the Shewa Fund Book.

I was marriedin year 1937 to Smt Rukmani d/o NaraindasMulchand Khianra. I had four daughters whoare happily married. My two grandsons PiyushMahesh & Chetan Lalchand are managingtheir family business under my guidance. InKarachi, we were having Puj Mahajan wherepersons used to assemble at Dasehera andSanta and Ganthia used to be distributed. There was one function of janeo change.

Once Hirabha (Hiranand U Gajria) fromJodhupur came and he was kind enough tobuild a bigger Hall named Uttam Hall. ShriJethanand Karani was head, Shri AsanmalTikamdas Gajria, Jethanand & Tirathdasused to be secretary. But memories I cherish& remember is of Bhatia Yuvak Sangh whichwas body of youths who used to help greatlyin funerals of our community people. Thefounder member Shri Chandumal J Bhatiahad one big Hall in his house for Bhatia YuvakSangh where active memmbers assembled. The group consisted of 1) JeevandasAssanmal Gajria (peerTYee) 2) BhudhanmalTirathdas Gajria (yegOeveYee) 3) Moolraj LakhumalGajria (veC[gYee) who were meeting daily in clubtype of atmosphere.
