KIDS DAY OUT: It is time for pre-registration. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Kids’s Day Out program for the 2013-2014 year please contact Gayle Burgett. (548-2127 or gayle @firstshallowater.org) We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will begin on September 3rd.  

KIDZVILLE is for children ages Nursery to 6th Grade

KIDZ CHURCH: Kidz Church available for children 1st-4th grade during the 9:30 AM service in the Blue Room. Please note we will not have Kidz Church on Sunday, November 30th.

The Living Room Sessions: This is a college worship service at Encounter at Shadow Hills. It includes community-building, worship through music, and a short message. (Tuesdays 8:00-9:30PM, 5911 4th Street, Lubbock)

UMin S'mores Night: We will be meeting at Nate and Kelsey's house Sunday, Nov. 23rd, at 7:00 PM for a night around the fire with s'mores. (507 Iola Avenue, Lubbock)

The Christmas Living Room Sessions: The Christmas Sessions: The Christmas Living Room Sessions will take place Tuesday, Dec. 2nd at 8:00pm at the Encounter Worship Center. Come dressed in your favorite Christmas pajamas for a group photo!

ENCORE MINISTRY is for Adults 55 years and older

ENCORE FIRST MONDAY: The First Monday for December meeting will be moved to a special one time event on December 8th (2nd Monday) at a new time 12:00 Noon. We needed to move this to accommodate our special guests that day. Our program will be lead by a special college music ensemble, “Forte” from LCU. We will eat first then have our program. The program is free to all and the meal is $7.00. Meal tickets are available through your Connection Groups or call the office at 832-4511. Bus will be at Encounter at 11:30AM.

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

How to Join the Church!  If you would like to join our church, please fill out the card below. You can make your commitment by coming forward during the song of commitment after the sermon and visiting with one of our pastors or by placing the card in the offering plate and one of our pastors will contact you. You can become a member in the following ways: 1.  By accepting Jesus Christ in your heart as your personal Lord and Savior and being obedient to the Lord’s command to be Biblically baptized. Biblical baptism is a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is by immersion in order to symbolize the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. 2.  By letter of recommendation from a church of like faith and order. 3.  By statement that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have placed your faith in Him as Savior and Lord and have been obedient to a Biblical baptism.
