Awareness Day Walk Planning Committee invite you to be part of the Piedmont Triad’s 1st Annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Walk.

We are currently seeking individuals as well as groups to volunteer for this exciting event. There are a variety of tasks that you or your group can participate in and we would appreciate

Available Volunteer Opportunities – Please Check Your Area(s) of Interest

Set-up (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM) Your job may include setting up tables and chairs, unloading supplies and setting them out on tables or assisting with refreshments & registration supply set-up.

Traffic Control (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM) Your task will be to keep traffic moving as freely and smoothly as possible leading up to and during the event. You will direct cars to the entrance of the park, to the shelter, and to parking spaces.

Registration/Greeting/T-shirt Distribution (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM) – You will be responsible for signing-in walkers and handing out t-shirts.

Refreshment Stations (7:00 AM – 11:30 AM) You will help get the refreshment stations ready before participants arrive and will help with re-stocking items as necessary through the morning and with clean-up after the walk is over.

Walk Route Assistants & Cheerleaders (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) Your role is to ensure that walkers have a safe and fun experience every step of the way. This may include passing out bottled water, holding up signs along the walk route, or assisting participants in wheelchairs.

Clean-Up (10:30 AM – 12:00 PM) You will help by taking down event signage, packing up supplies, and picking up any trash from the walk.
