All transactions except one (Resonate Networks) were greater than or equal to $5 million. Ninety-two public Web 2.0 companies identified: Our Web 2.0 universe contains 92 companies, with a combined market cap of ~ $46 bill ion (Figure 1). The average market cap for the group is ~$500 mil lion (but a median of only $48.8 mil lion), with average trai ling revenue of $149.6 mil lion (median $56.0 mil lion). The companies are also generally profitable, with a median EBITDA margin of 16.0%. On a valuation basis, the overall average is 5.2x trai ling revenue (median 1.5x) and 9.4x trail ing EBITDA (median 8.7x). Thirteen of the companies have more than 500 employees.
