TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS

Training programs need to be continuously maintained to remain effective and targeted to

the ever changing needs of the end-user population. To ensure long-term end user

adoption and retention of a given program, an assessment of the training elements should

be analysed on a regular basis that aligns to the changing needs of the audience being

targeted.

The approach used by Infosys consists of 5 steps:

1. Define - Define the scope and success criteria for the training program being assessed

2. Collect - Gather data points on training plans and content

3. Analyse - Analyse core applications and processes and audience/end-user population

4. Validate - Validate existing gaps in training and highlight missing training content5. Recommend - Recommend training mitigation plan to address gaps

The purpose is to identify the root causes leading to gaps across organization and providing

the required programs to remove those gaps.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT – DESIGN & DELIVERY

The spirit of learnability among its people and an organizational commitment to continuous

personal and professional development keeps Infosys at the forefront in a fast-changing

industry. The framework for continuous learning at Infosys is built around a number of focused programs for its employees. The training plan provides a sequence of inputs as

individuals grow through their professional career. Commencing with a structured induction

at the beginning to leadership trainings for seniors, training and development initiatives are

available at each milestone and cover all the functional areas.

For this Infosys has developed a university like campus at Mysore. This 337-acre complex is

called the Narayana Murthy Centre of Excellence and houses the Global Education Centre

(GEC). Infosys takes it’s training very seriously, estimating that it dedicates $184 toward

training every year. The Infosys GEC has 610 full-time faculty members.
