A web page is accessed by entering a URL address and may contain text, graphics, and hyper links to other web pages and files. The page you are reading now is an example of a web page.

Advertisements in papers, magazines and other traditional offline media generally cost far more than advertising online and for many business are something of a law of diminishing returns as, again, more people turn to the web. Even businesses that simply use their websites as an online brochure rather than necessarily attracting traffic directly should still see significant cost savings when factoring in printing costs — and of course electronic media are widely held to be better for the environment.

Websites can be set up to provide the exact information your customers need. Some businesses simply need a basic business description, address and phone details. Others add testimonials, photographs and other detailed information which, if correctly constructed, can inspire a level of confidence in your company that can be hard to achieve offline. A well designed website allows the user to quickly navigate to the product or service information that interests them most – often far more so than the equivalent printed brochure.

When you want to visit your favorite mall and shop at all the fine retailers, how do you get there? Most of us would prefer to use a car because it's fast, it's convenient, and you can use all the goodies like the air conditioner and the radio. Like a car helps us get to the mall quickly, a web browser allows us to travel through the Internet and visit our favorite websites. Personally, I prefer Acura as my automobile of choice; with regard to traveling the Internet highway, my 'go-to' choice for web browsers is Mozilla Firefox, just as a personal preference.

Today, there are thousands of different search engines available on the Internet, each with their own abilities and features. The first search engine ever developed is considered Archie, which was used to search for FTP files and the first text-based search engine is considered Veronica. Today, the most popular and well-known search engine is Google.

Web development refers to building, creating, and an maintaining websites. It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming, and database management.

While the terms "web developer" and "web designer" are often used synonymously, they do not mean the same thing. Technically, a web designer only designs website interfaces using HTML and CSS. A web developer may be involved in designing a website, but may also write web scripts in languages such as PHP and ASP. Additionally, a web developer may help maintain and update a database used by a dynamic website.

SQL (Structured Query Language) is a standardized programming language used for managing relational databases and performing various operations on the data in them. Initially created in the 1970s, SQL is regularly used by database administrators, as well as by developers writing data integration scripts and data analysts looking to set up and run analytical queries.

The uses of SQL include modifying database table and index structures; adding, updating and deleting rows of data; and retrieving subsets of information from within a database for transaction processing and analytics applications. Queries and other SQL operations take the form of commands written as statements -- commonly used SQL statements include select, add, insert, update, delete, create, alter and truncate.

Economic growth will especially benefit to societies in which political desire exceed the resources, because it may prevent what might otherwise prove to be social tension that people can't take it. However, without economic growth, the desires of one group can be met when others expense on it. Lastly, economic growth can help newly independent countries in mobilizing resources to increase the power of a nation.
