Design Explanations

Concept and DesignI choose to create a web identity package centered around myself as a runner. The idea however isthat the side could be applicable to any Michigan student athlete to highlight themselves and thedifferent sports and seasons they play.

ColorsBecause it is University of Michigan athletics I did not feel I could stray from the Maize and Blue colors.However, in order to add more dimension to the site and a softer theme I also added the light yellowand light blue to the pallet to also make the site feel more personally connected to each althlete.

Typography

I choose Book Antiqua, because it is serif and the block M has serifs. Also this font is used in many otherlogos affiliated with the University and used next to the block M, and so I kept it traditional to maintaina professional look as well as keep with the already established identity.

Harmony TypeOverall the site has a cool harmony type. The blue and white make up a majority of the space and thenthe yellows and colors in the photos help add a little warmth the site, but overall it is on the cool side of

the color wheel.
