For the following blog, I went into Cork City’s, Patrick Street and evaluated four shops. I picked shops from different groups such as cafes, department stores, sports shops etc. I chose to evaluate A cloths shop- Love Lisa, A Cafe- Gloria Jean’s, A Phone Shop- Vodafone, And Department Store- Dealz. Love Lisa- As soon as I entered this store I immediately knew it was a store for females as all the manikins on the window were female. It also didn’t seem like a place that would sell casual clothing as all the clothing on the window were dressier. I also taught it was eye catching as the surrounding was a grey colour with bright white lights in the windows. This feature carried out through the shop the walls and floors were white and there were bright lights even in the dressing rooms along with modern music. This shop is more for a younger age group. Gloria Jean’s- I taught the outside of this cafe looked warm and welcoming, this was the theme through the whole shop, with wooden floors and comfortable seating that made us feel relaxed and at ease. Like any coffee shop, as soon as I walked in the door I could get the smell of coffee. There didn’t seem to be any gender differences, e I was served by 2 ladies but I also saw a man wearing the uniform too. They were also advertising there new line of coffees involving spices on the windows and tables.

For the following blog, I went into Cork City’s, Patrick Street and evaluated four shops. I picked shops from different groups such as cafes, department stores, sports shops etc. I chose to evaluate

A cloths shop- Love Lisa,

A Cafe- Gloria Jean’s,

A Phone Shop- Vodafone,

And Department Store- Dealz.

Vodafone- It didn’t really have an attractive look, it was surrounded my scaffolding. My first impression was that it was bright, it had white tiles and lights with the colour red (Vodafone’s logo) also running through the shop, There were also phones attached to the walls and to two tables in the shops. It was small yet very busy, There were 3 checkouts and each one was occupied by a male wearing a dark uniforms.

(Picture I took wouldn’t load)

Dealz- Personally I don’t think the outside of Dealz looks very attractive I feel that it is dated. As soon as I walked in the shop made sure to let me know that everything was only €1.49. Also as I walked though the store there was sock on offer in the middle of it. The place was quite cold and there was no music playing. It also seemed to be occupied by students; even the staff seemed to be student.
