We chose to use this edited cut out of the doctor’s mask for the main image as we didn’t want to reveal too much about the doctor’s identity as this would give away his mysteriousness, we also wanted to create a slightly artistic image of the character to resemble alternative film posters that show an illustration usually with faded pastel colours. The film poster on the left is the original one we made, we wanted to keep the theme very minimal to challenge the typical conventions of having an action packed main photograph with clusters of other information. We did however use the conventions of having brightly coloured sell lines which are the text boxes that advertise the main articles.

After some development of our original ideas we decided that the background colour needed to be changed to be changed to match the same red used in the poster text to create an association of the colour and out film, we also felt that the background needed more interest and the magazine titles should stand out more against the background. We felt the font used in the selling points needed changing also because the letters seemed too crushed against each other, we fixed this by lengthening the spaces between each letter which was a useful feature to have in Photoshop. We also felt it was necessary to add sub images of other films to the cover as to demonstrate other films that may be reviewed inside the magazine. This sub image was created by removing some of the background around the two main characters in a circular shape making sure to leave them untouched, giving the effect that they are escaping the constraining circle.
