Just a few updates to make sure your day go as smoothly as possible.

Venue Just to reconfirm postcode NN9 6GY

A course map is available online http://runatstanwicklakes.co.uk/ for anyone who is taking part for the first time.

Sign In is open from 8.15AM to 10.00AM, on arrival you need to sign in at the Barn which is situation behind the start and finish line. Each Race 5K, 10K and ½ Marathon are allocated a separate line to sign-in so please look out for the signage. Race numbers (we have safety pins) and timing chips will be distributed at this time.

We have a record number of people running on Sunday so please arrive in plenty of time to register to avoid delays.

The Visitors Centre and café will be open from 8.30AM so the early birds can enjoy warm refreshments and shelter before the run begins.

Parking there are enough parking spaces for all cars if they are parked correctly – so please follow the marshals instructions as they will tell you the best place to park to ensure we all fit in!. Standard Car Parking charges apply.

Final Briefing and Run times please ensure you are signed in and at the start line by 10.15AM as final instructions will be announced at this time. We will then start the individual races shortly after the announcements.

Due to the numbers taking part we will be staggering each run group to avoid congestion at the start of the run, but remember that you are all individually timed so you don’t need to worry if you start at the back of the group. We will start with the ½ M, followed by 10K and then 5K

There will be a container at the start line where you can drop your ‘warm clothing’ before your race begins. (This will be at your own risk)

Water will be available throughout the day at water stations, around the course and in your finishing bag, but if you need any more please don’t hesitate to ask us.

Course Conditions -There has been a lot of snow/rain over the last few months and the river levels through Stanwick Lakes are very high. We are monitoring these daily and assessing any water on the course. Runners do need to be aware that there are puddles/water in a few places on the course. If this water does not clear we may look at amending the 1/2M course and any changes will be communicated on the day. It is essential that all runners attend the briefing at 10.15am as any changes will be communicated then.

New Run Timing System

What’s Been Developed We will be providing personal print outs for

every runner on the day. Making it easier to find your time. Come visit us a few minutes after you’ve finished and return your timing chip and collect your time.

More Information online about your run

You’ll find on our new website more information about your run than before. Covering average pace, split times for 10k and half marathon runners alongside the usual category position.

You can see your results on Sunday 18th after the race by 3.00PMwww.pbeventtiming.co.uk/results

Additional timing mats

New timing matts have given us the ability to provide all 10k and half marathon runners a lap time. They are also much wider eliminating any chance that your time won’t be recorded. Just make sure you cross over the matts on the course – don’t worry you can’t miss them.

New Timing Chips

We will be handing out timing chips at Sign In on the day. We will be using lightweight timing chips that fasten onto your shoe laces. Don’t have laces? This won’t be an issue as we will have plenty of twist ties that can fasten the timing chips.

Timing Mats There are two blue mats on the course both around the start/finish line. It is essential to cross these mats when running the course otherwise your time will not be recorded. Do not try and jump over or run around them just continue over the mats as normal. The mats will register your timing chip which should be fastened onto your shoe.

The timing team will be at registration to answer any questions you may have as well as assist you on correctly fitting your timing chip.
