What is Pride in Diversity? In 2016 the senseless shooting of 49 young people at a Gay Nightclub in Orlando and a few days later the murder of Jo Cox, MP for Batley and Spen, prompted a worldwide reaction, not of revenge, but of love and solidarity. This echoed Jo Cox`s belief that “We have more in common, than that which divides us.” Pride in Diversity was born out of the desire to honour this principle, to celebrate our common humanity and to show what it means to be fully inclusive. Our guiding principle is that all should be treated with Dignity, Respect and Inclusion. What does the day look like? Pride in Diversity 2020 is on Sunday 21 st June. Starting with Civic Service of Celebration at The Sun Pavilion from 10am. Then, the Parade will commence from the top of Montpellier Hill at 12pm. From 12.30pm until 6pm, will be our Party in the Park at the Valley Gardens. Based on previous years we anticipate a footfall in excess of 5000 over the day. The event is family friendly and fully accessible. There will be live music in the Bandstand, a village of Community, Charity, Business and Emergency Services Stalls showcasing their work within Harrogate District. What we’re asking of you?

What is Pride in Diversity?

In 2016 the senseless shooting of 49 young people at a Gay Nightclub in Orlando and a few days later the murder of Jo Cox, MP for Batley and Spen, prompted a worldwide reaction, not of revenge, but of love and solidarity. This echoed Jo Cox`s belief that “We have more in common, than that which divides us.” Pride in

Diversity was born out of the desire to honour this principle, to celebrate our common humanity and to show what it means to be fully inclusive. Our guiding principle is that all should be treated with Dignity, Respect and

Inclusion.
