Her father is Rouce, a dragon killer and her mother is the red dragon Mana. This is the great adventure of the strongest dragon half in history, Mink.

One day, while listening to the radio, she gets information about the idol knight, Dick Saucer, whom she longs for and has been trying to find. She hears that

Saucer will be invited to a royal party, so Mink heads for Shiva Castle with joy and courage plus her two friends Rufa and Pia come along for the ride.

But this was all a plot from King Shiva. A trap designed to take Rouce’s daughter hostage. Rouce is a rebel who had betrayed the country by falling in love with

the dragon he was ordered to exterminate.

Mink managed to escape the King’s trap, but, as a Dragon Half, she’ll never be accepted by Saucer… She is sure of that. So the three friends decided to go on a journey in search of the legendary secret medicine, the Pido Potion, that can turn

anyone into a human being.

However enemies sent by King Shiva appear to block the way and attack Mink for various reasons. Now, can Mink get the Pido Potion and become human? And

what about getting Saucer to fall in love with her?

★Mink (Dragon Half)This girl is the main character whose mother is a Kaiser Dragon (a kind of red dragon), said to be the strongest of the dragons, and whose father is Rouce, who is said to be the Sword Arm of the Shiva Kingdom. Although she looks almost the same as a human, she has horns, wings, a tail, and she can breathe fire.

★Rufa (Elf)A childhood friend of Mink who is the same age as her and lives in the same town. She is going on a journey with Mink. Although she is a wzard, she can hardly say the incantations and she keeps making mistakes. She has a troubled personality where she likes men yet has a tendency to act lesbian.

★Pia (Human)Childhood friend of Mink and Rufia. She is accompanying Mink on the journey as well. She was forced to wear magical armor with high defense by her extremely anxious parents. By the way, she can’t take it off. Her fairymouse Mappy is an innocent creature and wouldn’t hurt a fly(?)

★Dick Saucer (Sea Royalty)Shiva Kingdom’s popular idol and dragon killer. When he was a child, a dragon killed his parents in front of him, and he suffered a terrible injury. At the start of the game, you will be at level 1 and your physical strength will be at a minimum. As your level increases, Mink’s physical strength will increase. The length of the life meter does not change when this happens, but the ratio of physical strength to length changes. In other words, even if the appearance of the life meter hasn’t changed, your physical strength is increasing steadily. This becomes more obvious when you take damage and your life meter does not drop as much.

⬤ Conversation WindowThis window will appear when Mink enters conversation in World and Field modes.

World mode is a mode in which Mink can move around towns, houses, forests, etc. Mink and other characters are displayed on the screen at twice life-size scale.

⬤ Movement in World ModeBy pressing the movement key, Mink will move to the next point unprompted. You cannot move in a direction without a road.

⬤ Enter where you stoppedYou can enter the location Mink stopped at by pressing a confirm key. In the case of towns, houses, and shops, some kind of event will occur. In the case of forests, mountains, castles, etc. the screen may switch to the map for that location (see “Field Mode” page 18).

⬤ Event CharacterIn addition to Mink, various characters appear in the map of world mode. They will not move unless Mink and the others move. When Mink moves once, they also move once.

Press a cancel key in World Mode to open the World Menu.

“ITEM” Move to Item Mode where you can check and use the items and item cards you currently have (see “Item Mode” on page 18).

“LOOK” You can look around the map where Mink is. Use move key to move the field of view. By using this function, you can check the sate of the map and the position of event characters. Press a cancel key to exit.

“LOAD” Continue a game saved on the Save Disk. A message will be displayed, follow the instructions.

“END” Exit the game (displayed only when using the hard disk).

★Game Description★■ Field Mode

Field mode is the mode that displays after pressing one of the confirm keys in World Mode on a town, house, forest, etc. that displays a new map.

⬤ Movement in Field ModeWhile pressing the movement key, your character moves in the direction indicated (For instructions when using a mouse, refer to “Basic Operation” on page 13). In Field Mode, while moving, you may be suddenly attacked by a character. There is no way to avoid it, and the battle with the enemy begins.

⬤ Using ItemsYou can move to Item Mode by pressing one of the cancel keys.

There are two types of items that Mink can have.

⬤ Item CardItem cards are mainly used during Card Battles (see “Card Battle” on page 22). You can have up to 5 item cards at a time, but you can only use 1 card at a time. If you get 5 or more cards, they will be automatically discarded starting with the leftmost card you already had (for a detailed description of the Item Cards, refer to “Card Description” on page 36).

⬤ Event ItemsAn item obtained by progressing the story is called an event item. You can see it in Item Mode, but you cannot use it. There are also items in this category that have an effect just by holding it. Also, if you have more than one weapon item at once, the most powerful weapon’s effect will be given priority.

※ Neither Item cards nor event items can be discarded.

Once you enter the inn, the price to say the night will be displayed. If you want to recover your strength, select “Yes” with Yes/No Mink and press one of the confirm keys. Of course, you cannot stay if you do not have enough money to pay the accommodation fee.

Select a card from the five you have. If you can’t make a selection in time, Rufa ⦁or Pia will come out and pick a card for you.

Up to five attack and recovery cards can be used at the same time if the same ⦁type of cards are lined up next to each other (see “Explanation of Cards” on page 36 or “Attack Card Combination List” on page 37).

The fight continues until either the player or the enemy has 0 health or Mink ⦁and company runs away (see “Item” on page 19).

■ Card Select Operation Method

Operation when selecting a card is easy, but in order to efficiently output several cards, we have adopted an unusual method. Please follow along and understand it fully before playing.

★ If you want to use an item cardPress the down direction key. If you are waiting for the item card, the item card will appear. Then, select the card you want to use with the right or left direction keys and press a confirm key.

Press the up direction key to return to the normal card selection.

※ Only one item card can be used at a time.

★Card Battle★★ If you want to use only one card

➀ Move Select Mink in front of the card you want to use.➁ Press a confirm key twice.

⬤ There are only 13 types of combinations you need to learnIn fact, you only need to remember the eight strongest ones. Two cards of the same color are stronger than five cards of different colors, and two cards of the same color are less than half as strong as five cards of the same color. The point is whether or not you can firmly remember strong combinations and build them up flexibly.

⬤ Attacking first is the basics of victoryIn Dragon Half’s Card Battle, if you finish selecting a card first, you can execute the card first. Even if you prepare a strong combination, if the enemy moves first and your health goes to zero, you will game over

A “Comic Card” is a card that changes the effect of the “Basic Card” the opponent uses so it damages them rather than you. The most effective strategy involving the “Comic Card” is “aim for a strong attack if you want to use it to its full potential.”

If you have a “Comic Card,” its effect can be maximized when the opponent uses a strong attack card combination or when you are trying to use a “Recovery Card” but do not have much physical strength.

If the other party has it, you should always watch whether the other party uses the “Comic Card.” If they have, use a card other than a “Basic Card.” The “Comic Card” becomes invalid if a card other than a “Basic Card” is used. If you only have a “Basic Card,” “attack” with only one “Recovery Card” to minimize damage. If Mink’s level is low, an “Attack Card” will damage Mink a lot while a “Recovery Card” will do little damage.

I hope I can express the atmosphere of the original as well as possible. I’m planning on going various places in the west, but what should I do? Personally, I recommend the comical chibi character battle. This time, my major roles were game design and planning the main contents… it was a lot of hard work. In this way, all of the staff were able to complete the project safely because of the cooperation and assistance of all the people around us. As a team leader, Mr. Yamakawa gave us direction and a lot of schedule management, Mr. Ohno was enthusiastic about the planned scenario and made progress easy.

Mr. Nitta paired high tension sound with an exciting image of the game and really pushed me forward with the game. In the latter half of the game, Hyakkimaru-kun did various things including supervising the scenario map and followed along with the composition. Miyawaki-kun worked hard to make beautiful maps repeatedly. Contrary to my will(?) it was hard to draw a lot of ecchi pictures. Norihiro-kun drew solid visuals. Okuda-kun drew the main screen and other mode name screens. TOYBOX listened quietly to our requests for huge amount of work. Mrs. Inagawa helped me with editing the map. Mr. Nabe worked part-time. It is natural that her personality be Dragon Half-ized. However, when this character dies it overturns the base of the gag theme. “Ah, I had terrible eyes,” because of that she can’t survive.

Even in Elm Knight, there are many characters that were supposed to die. However, only Nake actually knows he is dead. Other characters begin to say “Are you dead!” as the scenario was being written. No, seriously.

Maril also started making a fuss when we made the prologue/epilogue. However, this time the situation was different from that of Elm Knight. Maril left my hands and was given over to Mr. Kubo, who is in charge of the game’s scenario. I didn’t really know what she would do in the scenario. However, no matter how vibrant and bright the gag was, she was destined to end up as warm snow.

As an aside, a snow girl named Maril was born six years ago. She was wandering around in a different dimension with a mouse that speaks human language when she fell into the world of Dragon Half. Where and how did she make a mistake? Was she lucky or unlucky…?

Oh…? Suddenly, warm snow falls on Mink and she remembers Maril, but nobody saw nor said Maril died. Possibly, after that ending, Maril, a girl with a flashy swimsuit on the beach, folded her arms around her boyfriend and shouted, “When I became human, I got sick!” That may just be a strange mental state that is relieved by the sea…

Here at the end, I have been drawn into the character’s assertion again. Did Maril die? You can decide that as the player.

★Card Descriptions★

Dragon Half’s Card battle uses four general types of cards, “Basic Cards,” “Auxiliary Cards,” “Special Cards,” and “Item Cards” and each is divided into several specific types. At the beginning of the game, not all card types will be encountered, but as Mink and the enemies level up, more will gradually appear. There is no need to try and remember everything each battle, just enjoy and experience the game.

___ Basic Cards __________________________________________________________________________________

“Basic Cards” have two types, “Attack Cards” and “Recovery Cards.” Basic Cards are the only type of card where 5 can be used in one turn. The effectiveness of these cards depends on how well they are collected, organized, and then used.

★ Attack Card (1 Attack Card)A card that allows Mink to attack the enemy character. The “Attack Card” animation and damage dealt to the opponent changes depending on the number and combination of cards used at the same time. At the upper left of the card is a color mark. This mark can be 5 colors: black, white, yellow, red, and blue. This mark affects card combos, but the strength of each color individually is the same.

★ Kind Card“Kind Card” allows you to discard all the cards you currently have in your hand and get 5 new randomly selected cards of the same type.

★ Shuffle Card“Shuffle Card” allows you to discard all of your opponent’s cards and replace them with 5 new cards selected at random. You can use it when the other party’s cards seem to line up well.

★ Change Card“Change Card” is a card that allows you to exchange all of your opponent’s cards with your own. The best time to use it is when the opponent has a card you want.

“Item Cards” are cards that can be used during a Card Battle or in the Field. “Item Cards” can be obtained at Events or from shops. “Escape Card,” “Recovery Card,” “Color Card,” “Shuffle Card,” and “Change Card” exist as “Item Cards.”The advantage of “Item Cards” is that you can use them whenever you want. The only item cards you can use in the field are “Recovery Cards” and “Escape Cards” but you can also use them in Card Battles. With item cards, you don’t have to wait for the card you want to appear, which gives you an advantage.

★ Escape CardThe Escape Card only exists as an Item Card and can be used in the field or in Card Battles.
