I am passionate about mission, evangelism and preaching; prior to ordination I worked in boarding schools as a housemaster, head of theology and director of rugby. I played rugby for thirty years, coached for twenty and I’m a huge Saracens fan. Most mornings, I can be found walking the coast or the Downs with my German Shepherd; praying, reflecting on the finer points of theology or thinking about the England team sheet! I am married to Kirsty and we have three children. Kirsty works for St. Peter’s Church in Brighton, Ben is taking a post-grad degree in maths at Jesus College, Oxford, Grace has just started her undergraduate degree reading English at York, and Hope is at Lancing Prep. We also have three cats all named after Harry Potter characters! Our whole family has fallen in love with Worthing and Goring for the local people, cafes, bars and the beach. These are challenging times yet also exciting times; God is at work and there are blessings aplenty! Hello from the curate: Father Neill Stannard

I am really looking forward to joining you all in Goring; in St. Mary’s and St. Laurence’s.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will be held in St Mary’s Church Hall Saturday 10th October 2020 between 10.00 a.m. - 12 noon, and between 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. Social distancing and restrictions adhered to. *Parish Mission Focus – October to December 2020 – Soup & Ploughman’s Lunch

Please support this event on Saturday 17 October in St Mary’s Church Hall. Around 12.00 noon time to be finalised when we have the numbers as we may have two sittings.

We are strictly meeting all government guidance and regulations to provide a safe environment (‘COVID-19 secure venues can still host larger numbers in total but groups of up to 6 must not mix or form larger groups’).

To assist with catering, organisation and tracking and tracing requirements please book a place by Wednesday 14 October through the Parish Office, giving your phone number and email address, as we shall have to keep a register. A choice of soup (leek and potato or tomato and basil [please state preference when booking] and the ploughman’s is being donated but donations in aid of this charity will be welcome even if you are unable to attend.
