Home Learning Year 5 Learning for Friday 17 th July 2020 Hello Year 5! It’s the final day of term 6- your final day of Year 5 AND you final day of this weird and crazy year! As your teachers, we are so sad we didn’t have longer together. We are so proud of the resilience you have shown and the emerald power you’ve displayed since school closed in March. Enjoy your summer break- enjoy being outside as much as you can and enjoy continuing to learn new things (away from the electronic devices when you can!) Enjoy nature, enjoy seeing people, enjoy keeping active! We wish you a safe and happy break and I hope you’re excited to begin a new chapter in September. Year 6 is a fantastic year! A HUGE well done to you all for continuing to try your best. See you in term 1 (from down the corridor!) Miss Harris and Miss Ridgers Task 1

Hello Year 5!It’s the final day of term 6- your final day of Year 5 AND you final day of this weird and crazy year!

See you in term 1 (from down the corridor!)Miss Harris and Miss RidgersTask 1

Complete a word cloud describing your year (both in time and as a cohort!) You can describe your school, class (5RH or 5MR) your teacher or your classmates. Use felt tip pens or colouring pencils to add a pop of colour or make it on your device if you’re allowed! Wordle and tagxedo are good sites to use! TIP: The more important the word, the bigger it is! Here are some examples but yours can be however you choose!

Task 2

Complete the code breaker by answering the maths questions and writing down the letter joined to the number. What does it spell?!

PSHE The task should take around 20 minutes.

PSHE Objective – Postcard from your future self

Today is your last day in Year 5 –eek! You have come a long way and have overcome many hurdles in your education. Today's task focusses on positive reflection and recognising how much work you have done 😊

Your task today is to write a postcard as yourself now to the person you were at the beginning of the year. You can use the template below to help you! Draw a picture of yourself doing something you are proud of in Year 5.

You could even write your address or the school’s address!

Here is an example of what you might write in paragraph 1...

Dear (your own name),

I know it’s the beginning of Year 5 and it might seem quite scary, but you have nothing to worry about. You might be thinking that the work is going to be really hard, but the teacher is always there to help, and you should ask questions when you are not sure because this can help you! My best advice is to challenge yourself more and speak to the teacher if you are unsure of what to do. This year I have put my hand up in class more, grown in confidence and even enjoyed Geography (which I didn’t think I would!)

Kind regards,Your future self.

Daily Physical Challenge

Go outside and dance! Do a victory lap of the garden or jump up and down with joy that you have no more home learning for 6 weeks!
