Principal Evaluation Overview

We reviewed the PP used last year to orient principals and agreed to add the calculation formula of the principal’s rating, delete the directions about the PDSA and the detailed review of the PLC process. Angela will update the technical directions about entering the goals in PeopleSoft and add opening and closing dates. She will also review the management indicators and explain how they will be used in the evaluation. The new indicators do not have ratings attached but I suggested that if a problem is identified, the Domain 3 indications could be used to document and effect the scoring:

6.2 Technology Integration

7.1 Leadership Development

8.1 School Management

9.1 Communication

Our target is to have the new evaluation documents open by Thursday, November 6th and close before December 1, 2014.

AP’s submit two goals too into PeopleSoft by 12/1/14

Deliberate Practice Goals

As discussed at Cabinet, principals will be directed to submit 2 SMART goals supporting the Strategic Plan and Superintendent’s Goal 1 (reading goal), they will not be required to submit the PDSA section of the form [Angela will delete.] Jeananne will send Shanna, Martha and Jeff the beginning of a menu of goal suggestions that illustrates the form principals are to use to submit their goals. Addition will need to be returned by Wednesday, November 5

Case Study

Angela will facilitate a table activity to review the Next Action

Worksheet [Goldenrod form distributed to principals at the October meeting. Remind your principals to bring the completed form to the meeting.] We discussed providing adequate time so all principals can review their case. Discussed Guiding Questions for the report out:

1.        Define the problem using professional descriptors suitable for written documents.

2.        Identify the document that defines the violation or ineffective practice [State Statue, Board Policy, contract or school handbook]

3.       Step to be taken before December 4th principal meeting
