The Hispaniola sails into Bristol harbour to a trumultuous welcome from the crowds.

This gripping story starts over a year ago when a young boy, who goes by Jim, discovered in the possession of a dead lodger a strange parchment: the map to the greatest pirate horde in the world. Many people, both good and bad, have been searching for this prized map for many years. Within hours of this life-changing discovery, Jim encountered the first deadly obstacle of his adventure. Witnesses claim this occurred before he even left home.

Without warning, Jim and his mother were surrounded by pirates intent of having the treasure map and its horde for themselves. Some twelve-year olds would have frozen to the spot in fear; others would have given into the pirates’ demands. But not Jim.

Completely exhausted, Jim and his mother arrived at their friends’ house looking for safety. They shared their secret with the Squire and Dr Livesey, who were both old family friends. Before long a plan was hatched, a crew gathered, a ship commissioned and the voyage prepared for. On March 19th 1759 the Hispaniola set sail from Bristol.
