Definition
Avalanche product serves to unify editorial content with advertiser branding. Editorial content is provided in the form of an article page and advertiser branding can be either an image or video. It is a highly visual and customizable standalone product integrating site articles, social share counts and in-banner video or static image.
Site articles are navigable through built-in carousel functionality. Video plays on click and can be closed at any point, and includes replay option. The minimum article inclusion is three but an additional three may be provided (for a total of 6).
CBS Interactive offers this unit through our approved third-party vendor. Creative assets provided by client will be delivered to vendor for production build. Client may provide design concept / functionality feedback.

II. Notes for Client Creative production build: Client to provide brand guidelines, logo, fonts, and brand imagery only
and vendor will create the entire unit. Site will provide content articles for client review. Initial Load: 970w x 250h desktop or 320wx170 mobile web (created by vendor) renders on initial
visit to site, subsequent load displays main container and article containers. Main Container: Advertiser branding displayed (created by vendor), dimension size varies. Title and
URL only required if part of design. Clicks through banner with option to click directly to advertiser site or include a panel playing a video file.
Article Containers: 3 - 6 articles will be selected by site and provided to client for review. Image appearing with article in container will be provided by site and should not be created by client / creative agency.
Creative kick-off call: If needed, a kick-off meeting with the vendor (third-party server), CBS Interactive Account Coordinator, and CBS Interactive Rich Media contact should be scheduled 14 business days prior to launch.
Third-Partying Serving: Available by our approved third-party vendor only. Default Image: Creative built in HTML5 technology, therefore non-HTML5-compliant browsers (e.g.,
Internet Explorer 9 and below) will only deliver initial load creative (i.e., 970w x 250h or 320wx50h banner with no article containers).
Creative design: Not limited to one design concept, there are a variety of options.
II. Notes for Vendor
Audio Must be user initiated (on click: mute/un-mute); default state is muted.
CPU Consumption Vendor's technology should consume no more than 25% of users CPU resources on an average system.
Submission InstructionsSave this document as [advertiser’s name]_Avalanche.doc file and send to your CBS Interactive representative.
Submit creative assets via e-mail or post creative assets to a webpage or FTP site and send the location via email to your CBS Interactive sales representative.
Deadlines:All creative assets must be submitted 10 business days prior to launch date.
If the submitted creative does not conform to the above specifications, it will not be placed online and may result in a delayed launch date.
