This template is to be used for preparing manuscripts for submission to Nano Research. Use of this template will save time in the review and production processes and will expedite publication. However, use of the template is not a requirement of submission. Do not modify the template in any way (delete spaces, modify font size/line height, etc.). TABLE OF CONTENTS (TOC)

Authors are required to submit a graphic entry for the Table of Contents (TOC) in conjunction with the manuscript title. This graphic

should capture the readers’ attention and give readers a visual impression of the essence of the paper. Labels, formulae, or numbers

within the graphic must be legible at publication size. Tables or spectra are not acceptable. Color graphics are highly encouraged. The

resolution of the figure should be at least 600 dpi. The size should be at least 50 mm × 80 mm with a rectangular shape (ideally, the

ratio of height to width should be less than 1 and larger than 5/8). One to two sentences should be written below the figure to

summarize the paper. To create the TOC, please insert your image in the template box below. Fonts, size, and spaces should not be

changed.

FIGURES. Below each figure, there should be a figure legend. The font is Times New Roman 9. A figure legend normally begins with a brief title describing its whole contents, and continues with a short description of each panel. The format of figure legends is "Figure 1 Figure legend". All details, such as description of the statistical treatment of error analysis, definition of unusual units or abbreviations, should be included in the figure legend. Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the legend. The preferred figure formats is TIFF or JPEG with a preferred resolution of 600dpi relative to the final figure size. When figures are divided into parts, each part should be labeled with a lower-case (a), (b), and so on, in the same font size as used elsewhere in the figure. All lettering in figures should be in lower-case, except for the first letter of each label which should be capitalized. Use a single space to separate a number and its units. Ensure that the labels are sufficiently large and clear to be readable when the figure is reproduced in the print version of the journal. Labels in figures are clearer in Times New Roman 10. Figures are referred to in the manuscript as "Fig. 1" and "Fig. 1(a)", or "Figure 1" at the beginning of a sentence. After a manuscript is accepted, we may ask the authors to provide high resolution figures. Failure to supply the file can significantly delay the publication of your work. If possible, please provide a set of high resolution figures along with your initial manuscript. The width of figures should better be 8, 12, or 17 cm, and the height should be less than 19 cm.

SCHEMES. The font is Times New Roman 9. Below each scheme, there should be a brief title describing its contents. Title format should follow "Scheme 1 Scheme title". Schemes are referred to in the manuscript as "Scheme 1". If any chemical

structures are used in the manuscript including figure/table, the use of ChemDraw software is encouraged.

TABLES. The font is Times New Roman 9. Above each table, there should be a brief title describing its contents. Title format should follow "Table 1 Table title". All details, such as nonstandard abbreviations, and a description of standards of error analysis, should be included in footnotes. Tables are referred to in the manuscript as “Table 1”.

EQUATIONS. The font is Times New Roman 9. Equations and mathematical expressions are identified by parenthetical numbers, such as (1), and are referred to in the manuscript as "Eq. (1)", or “Equation (1)” at the beginning of a sentence.

Please follow the steps below for formatting double column figures, schemes, and tables: 1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the double column figure, scheme or table.2. Click the Insert menu, choose Break.3. Choose Continuous in Sections.4. Place the cursor in the new section.5. Choose Columns in the Format menu.6. Type 1 in the Number of Columns.7.
