DEAR APPLICANT, We are looking forward to meet you at Edirne! We hope that this info pack will contribute to increase your understanding of our EVS vacancy and that it will give you useful information about our association and the environment we offer to our volunteers.
ABOUT THE VACANCY
Activities proposed:
Project activities: 03/02/2019 - 24/06/2019
Two volunteers from Italy will work with kids, young people who are aged between 3 to 6
They will:
Organize and support daily (for the weekdays) sports and cultural voluntary activities for pre-school children.
Organize and support the promotion of the activities. (blog, leaflets, social media messages)
Write blog articles by telling his/her own stories. Learn Turkish language and culture. Organize free conversation point aimed to kids where the volunteers will
speak their own native language. Suggest and realize his/her own ideas. Organize Skype meetings with the other volunteers in the other countries
to coordinate and planning the topic to share. Visit kindergartens to have a playing session with the kids for language
acqusition. Participate in EVS and Erasmus+ promotion. Organize evaluation materials for the participants.
Expected learning outcomes:
The volunteers will learn about the institutional organization and environment of Edirne Provincial Directorate of National Education as the accredited institution of volunteer projects. They also will learn about volunteering in the region.
The volunteers will develop skills in the youth work, teamwork, resource management and peer education fields.
The volunteers will improve their skills in the use of English and Turkish language spoken and written.
The volunteers will improve their digital skills. The volunteers will learn skills in interaction with young people and
settlement, in group management and the implementation measures of prevention of risk.
The volunteers will acquire skills to adapt.
About The Volunteers
We generally look for volunteers who are dynamic, creative, sociable, patient and that know what they want to do. You have to be able to work in a team, be sociable, flexible and creative: we would like to host people with interesting hobbies, with their own ideas and open to different cultures. Strong motivation, willingness to see and to do something new, curiosity about the world and other cultures are welcome.
About Us The Hosting Organisation:
Edirne Provincial Directorate of Education is a public authority that holds all educational activities in the region .We have been wor- king in the area since 1983. We provide sup- port for youth,teacher and parents, we con- duct education in schools and the community, and we provide opportunities for youth to par- ticipate, build confidence, and grow. We work to provide a safe and supportive enviro- ment ,a healthy and educated generation.
Accommodation and Food:
Accommodation will take place within dorm rooms for 1 or 2 people. Details will be explained later. All the expenses related accomodation and food will be covered by the Project budget.

Respect
Verbal harassment/bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. Youth Leaders and facilitators are here for your safety, please listen to
them. If there is an issue that you feel needs to be addressed please speak with the facilitators first then youth leader.
Prescription medication will be the responsibility of the volunteers, although you will have the option of securing your medication with staff and have access to it when necessary. Please keep inhalers, epi-pens & other life- saving medication with you at all times

Advanced Planning Visit
Our meeting that topics such as accommodation, language support and activities will be clarified will take place in 21/24 January 2019 (4 days). There will also be a visa requirement to consider for coming to Turkey from Italy.
