Dear Friends, Following is our most recent Prayer Letter. We pray it will be an encouragement to you as you see what God is doing. A Prayer Letter informs people of our ministry but we want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of you who for several years have supported us through prayer and financially. We always feel inadequate when expressing our thanks and having people feel how sincere we are. Our thanks is not just another missionary cliché’. We are truly grateful to God for your encouragement. We thank God for churches such as Jacobstown Baptist Church and Linwood Community Church who have been with us from the beginning as well as many individuals. Crossroads Bible Church and Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship have also been very faithful in helping us with the ministry. Over the years our work has grown and evolved and now we see much fruit. Four churches have been planted on Mindoro and disability ministry has opened up to us in more than one location. This requires Dick to be in more of an administrative role as he mentors and counsels the Filipinos staffing the various works as well as coordinates the various activities involved. It requires much travel to and within the Philippines. Current plans call for Dick’s return to the Philippines in August/September. Your support makes all of this possible. We rejoice that God has added Tulls Hill Bible Church and Fishertown Church as full time support in addition to Bedford Valley Bible Church that provides support from time to time. With a network of dedicated Filipinos in place and support seeming to have reached a level of stability we are seeking God’s guidance on moving ahead with a long time dream of establishing a small facility to provide care and shelter to disabled children

Dear Friends,

Following is our most recent Prayer Letter.

With a network of dedicated Filipinos in place and support seeming to have reached a level of stability we are seeking God’s guidance on moving ahead with a long time dream of establishing a small facility to provide care and shelter to disabled children on Mindoro. Please pray with us as we begin to investigate God’s will for this by exploring possible sites, costs and staff.

Sincerely

Dick and Judy

To minister to, to evangelize and to disciple the poor, orphaned and disabled;and to equip churches and individuals in the Philippines and USA to do likewise.

Greetings! Much is going on with the work of the ministry and we would like to give you an update.

CHURCH PLANTINGWe had an opportunity to assist Pastor Roland Pacong from Mindanao to visit churches in

the USA. This gave him the opportunity to present the work of the ministry in Mindanao. Love gifts he received from Tulls Hill Bible Church helped to provide the funds to build a Sunday school for his church. Mindanao is where we first lived when we went to the Philippines

The construction of the Sunday school on Mindanao._____________________________________________________________________________________

The construction of the church in Sta. Isabelle is now completed and will provide protection from the heat and sun of summer during the upcoming VBS. The relocation of the church in Buhangin is almost completed. Funds that came through Linwood Community Church have made this work possible.

Enough support has come in to hold VBS in all four churches as well as doing two VBS outreaches in villages where there are no churches.

Pastor Ordiales had an opportunity to come to the USA with four teachers from the Christian school in Pasay City. They were able to learn by observing the operation of a Christian school in the USA. Dick is working with pastor Ordiales to hold some classes on expository preaching and hermeneutics for pastors from around the island of Mindoro.

DISABILITY MINISTRY

Through our association with Joni and Friends International Disability Ministry we have helped obtain two grants that have been put to use in the Philippines. As previously reported we received a grant to install an elevator at a Christian school in Bulacan. Now disabled children and staff can go to the second floor. A Picture of the completed project is shown below.

We also were able to help obtain a grant so that blind people in the Philippines could receive an audio Bible on an MP3 player. The MP3 player is built so that it cannot be erased or recorded over. This project would be in Cebuano which is the major language on Mindanao.

Typical plight of the blind in the Philippines. Pray for their physical needs and that additional funds are provided to meet Spiritual needs with the Audio Bibles.

We are still seeking a Special Education teacher to help us assist the Christian school in Pasay city.

WHEELCHAIR OUTREACH

Vincent Ortiz Michel Basag

The two boys above both have Cerebral Palsy. They are sponsored to attend the Christian School in Bulacan. Their parents work but just get by in the Philippine economy. They cannot afford wheel chairs for their children.

There have not been sufficient funds to ship a container of wheelchairs to the Philippines as we had planned but God had another plan. We now have some people in Cainta that will custom build wheelchairs to meet the size and needs of the person it is for. The work is called Tahagan Walang Hangdanan (House without steps) As the Lord supplies the funds for this project, individuals will receive a wheelchair beginning with Vincent and Michel. When the wheelchair is presented to them they will also receive a Bible in Tagalog and a pastor from a church in their area will share the Gospel with the family. It is our prayer that this will be an ongoing project.
