Q1 (Pupils will have different answers here). They have not learned how to build houses like we live in and they had very few tools to build the kind of house we build.

Q2 (1)Mobile home (2)bungalowQ3 (Pupils will have different answers here).

People in Ireland lived in Crannógs to keep them safe from attack as they were built on island and it was therefore harder to attack them.

Q4 (Pupils will have different answers here). If a house has a flat roof and there is lots of rain then the rin will stay on the roof rather than roll down the roof if the roof has a slope or a slant.

Q5 (Pupils will have different answers here). The house may be built on stilts because the top of the ground is very wet or soft and the foundation would not be steady on ground like that so stilts are sunk deep into the ground and the foundation of the house and the house itself are built on the stilts.

Tuesday AnswersQ6 (Pupils will have different answers here).

Thailand is surrounded by a lot of water and a lot of people lived at the coast. Thailand gets very heavy rain during parts of the year and the stilt house can help to stop houses getting flooded as they are up off the ground.

Q7 (Pupils will have different answers here).

Q4 (Pupils will have different answers here). I think the Boneshaker got it name because there were no rubber tyres to cushion the bike going over rough ground as it only had wooden wheels and the user would feel every bump on the road while cycling it.

Q5 They now have rubber tubes and tyres as a cushion against the bumps and potholes on the road.
