My job as Deputy Commander is to work with the corps commander to make sure everything is getting done. I work with other cadets like the logistics and operations to make sure they are doing their jobs and I report back to the corps commander. Somethings I like are drill and robotics. The Awareness Presentation Team Commander leads a team devoted to researching current social issues/problems and presenting and educating cadets, students within the school, and students in the local community. My vision is to demonstrate the value of this service and corps involvement by developing awareness and providing training on social issues.

I’m responsible for the As 2s, 3s, and 4s. As a squadron commander I have to perform weekly checks on the student data for each flight, who is dressing out, participating in PT, wearing the uniform and etc. Sometimes you will see me in the halls on uniform days correcting some cadet’s uniforms and answering any questions about the uniform. Hello AS-1s’, I’m Cadet Deandre Taylor and I'm your Squadron B commander. My job is to work with you (AS-1’s) to check and see who is and who's not dressing out, participating in PT, and if you are wearing your uniform correctly. I look at each one of your attendance and discipline records and I help you get in formation at Reveilles and Retreats. If there are uniforms cancelations or what class uniform you need to wear that week. This all help us in preparing for our annual inspection in March. If you need help with anything or want to ask any questions you can come to me or your ROTC instructors. You can contact me at (314) 688-1459 or find me throughout the day. My goal this year is to help you all become the best cadets as possible and prepare you for March.
This summer Master Sergeant Wiley from Scott Air Force Base hosted the Scott CALC camp. This camp is aimed at preparing cadets for advancement as leaders within the corps. Cadets from five Missouri and Illinois schools attended. The high schools that attended were Gateway STEM, Soldan International Studies, Vashon, Cleveland, and O’ Fallon.

Autism Walk
JROTC participated in the annual Autism walk to support fellow Jaguars from Gateway Michael. We opened the ceremony with the presentation of the C olors. Some cadets helped by cheering on the Gateway Michael staff and students as they walked, others participated in the walk, and we ran the refreshment stand. Way to go!
Field Day at Cleveland
On October 10, 2016 we had 18
cadets participate in field day at
Cleveland JROTC. The cadets went
head to head with Cleveland and
Soldan high school. Placing 1st with
Cleveland. The cadets participated
in tug of war (Gateway placing first
