FIRST BIG WRITE

The children will be doing their first BIG WRITE on Monday! Very exciting! They will be talking about their family and having a go at writing words like Mum, Dad or the initial

letters for their brothers or sisters. Could your child bring in a few photos of their family (if you could talk through the photos over the weekend that would be brill) or put them

onto tapestry that would be brill.

Phonics

We have a lovely reward system for the children in class that involves them earning pennies during the week that they then get to spend at the shop on a Friday. We would like all the children to make their own piggy bank to collect their pennies in. It needs to have a slot for the pennies to go in and a lid that can be taken on and off. The best things to use are Pringles can or margarine tubs. If these come be back in school for Monday 25th September please.

I have included two examples but if you look online there are hundreds of ideas.

Number

Next week we will be learning about numbers of personal significance.

What number house do you live at? How old are different family

members? What is your car number plate? What bus do you get on? What is your telephone number? Over the weekend, when your out and about

can you take pictures of numbers that have a personal meaning to the

children and add them to tapestry. We will then be able to use these in

class to support us with their learning.

TAPERSTYMost of you are now set up on Tapestry however did you know you can add

grandparents and other family members as well! If

you would like them to have an account please add their name and email address to the reading diary and I will

add them.

This week we have been learning the sounds

s a t p i n We have also learnt the tricky word IThank you for coming to the phonics

meeting on Thursday, hope you found it useful!
