Learning Outcome: Girls will learn that God gives the gift of salvation when we believe in him.

Preparation:1. Put small gifts, such as scrunchies or some other Dollar Tree find, in gift bags or

boxes for each girl.2. Study the “What does it mean to be saved?” Drawings and be prepared to draw and

explain on chart paper or a white board.3. Print a copy of the memory verse posters from this lesson.4. Optional: Print memory verse coloring pages. Provide markers or crayons.

Bible Study:1. Give each girl a gift you have prepared. On your signal, instruct girls to open their

gifts. Ask: Did you do something to earn these gifts? Did you beg me to give you these gifts?

2. Ask an older GA to read Ephesians 2:8. Now read Ephesians 2:8 from the New Living Translation.

3. Print the word “Grace” on a white board or chart paper. Ask: What do you think grace means? Say: Grace is the gift of salvation God gives us. We don’t do anything to deserve it.

4. Print the word “Saved” on a white board or chart paper. Say: God sent Jesus to save us. Use the “What does it mean to be saved?” Drawings to explain the plan of salvation. Use chart paper or a white board to draw each numbered section as you explain.

5. Lead in prayer, thanking God for his salvation.6. Let girls take turns reading each verse of Ephesians 2:8-10 from the memory verse

posters. Ask: How are we saved? What do we have to do to be saved? Should we brag about being saved? Why not? Why did God create us? Say: This weekend we will learn more about the special gifts God has given us so we can do good things he has for us.

7. If time: Let girls practice drawing “What does it mean to be saved?” Print the Coloring Pages for Ephesians 2:10 for girls to color.
