The Peak Academy - Home Learning GCSE Transition Project (year 9 into year 10) Date: 18 th July - 31 st August Summer Holidays Subject: Art and Design Learning Outcome: Photography Project Making connections with artists and my own work (AO1). To explore a range of potential ideas, showing development (AO2). To record in a variety of ways including clear annotation (AO3). To make personal and informed decisions with the intention of creating a final outcome (AO4). Learning Task: To explore your creativity and storytelling through the use of miniatures. FIRST – Look at each of the 5 artists and pick the 1 that you find most interesting. For this artist complete written research (annotation) using the annotation prompts pdf. Pick your favourite photograph from that artist and complete an image analysis, using the template photographer analysis PowerPoint (AO1). NEXT – Think about the small toys you have at home or the characters you like. Could 1, 3 or more, fit in your pocket? If you don’t have a small toy you could use a cut out picture of one or make one (possibly out of blu tac, card, plasticine, socks, anything you have at home, AO2). Select your character(s), toy(s) or picture(s). THEN – Remember it is easy to put a small toy in your pocket and take it everywhere with you. Adventures could happen in your own home or garden, walking down the street, in the car or even on a trip. You may find a naturally occurring scene or you may plan and stage it. Think about the kind of adventure or story you wish to create and show in your photographs. You may wish to produce some sketch plans of your ideas (AO2 & AO3). FINALLY – Aim to take 5 photographs a week (30 in total), you are welcome to take more. Think creatively and think about how your character or toy sees the world around them compared to you (you are a lot larger), AO3 & AO4.
