Action points were also followed up accordingly. Action point1: relating to Developing Policies on Nutritional Service Delivery from the previous minutes was not clear, though the action point was referring to development of nutrition service plan and updates on this was referred to a later date, when MoH will clarify and still on pending. Action point number 2: from the previous meeting, relating to Sharing monthly nutrition reports to Juba land M.O.H. Project coordinator from PAC says we are still on the process and we will share for the coming month. While SAF-UK identified to share it. Action point number 3: In connection with organisational referral slips, all partners has been shared and received. Action point number 4: From the previous meeting the task force has planned to meet and plan on how to undertake gap analysis. Nevertheless, Lower Juba nutrition officer informed to the participants not to undertake gap analysis until to close at handling policies ongoing on. Meeting Minutes(K2/Regional Medical Office, 20th August 2016, 10:00-12:00 pm)

1. Introduction and Registration of Participants;The meeting was chaired by Abdikarim Ali Abdi from SAF UK, commenced with Holly Quran prayer followed by round table introduction of participants. 3. Key Nutrition Updates and Situation Highlights;

GENERAL AND PARTNER UPDATES After a brief discussion on current nutrition status of the region especially in Kismayo town by the members, the attendees uniformly echoed a positive progress in term of the nutrition status of the region is somewhat, with snail pace getting quite better compared to the last few months. The members deliberated the impact of new IDPs flocking to some of already congested camps whilst manifesting SAM and MAM signs. The cluster agreed on a bonded consensus that the new IDPs with aforesaid signs be intervened with immediate urgency.

Furthermore, the outside of Kismayo town respectively increases gap of nutrition like Gobweyn, Bula-gadud, Yontoy, Qamqam, and Sacmoja.

Health manager from Medair supposed that there is no emergency nutrition gap in Kismayo town, except there overlapping and need to be considered.

HIMILO FOUNDATION: Running TSFP and BSFP programs since 2013 partnering with WFP. The organization actively runs its program in 5 villages of kismayo, namely; Alanley, Farjano, Fanoole, Gulwade and Shaqaalaha with outpost service delivery centres in all aforesaid locations.

While the organization received last month 5300, 4459 are under 5yrs and 841 are PLW. Other side also registered 11336 of BSFP Program.

MOH: The ministry of health was represented by Zone Nutrition Coordinator and Lower Juba Nutrition Officer assured to strength coordination between partners and MOH also informed partner to share report to Jubaland HMIS monthly though the Jubaland HMIS reporting email will be circulated at a later date.

In addition to the letter from MOH indicates emergency gap of Kismayo, the Lower Jubba nutrition officer informed for the participants that there is no gap in Kismayo town although they met 18th August 2016 with District commissioner officer and Village community leaders in Kismayo town in regards to prioritized needs of OTP Fixed centres rather than Mobile.

Partners were also advised to forward quarterly reports to MoH and also to fill 4W matrix which facilitates to know every organization what it is doing and where.

ARDI: informed participants have to plan launching IYCF network for Jubaland state, and request to endorse it, which will focus on among other things breastfeeding promotion. The representative also highlighted the need for strong IYCF interventions that will definitely aid in reduction of malnutrition in the district. The organisation is planning to start interventions to this effect.

He has also informed participants endorse to cover nutrition gaps in surrounding Kismayo town especially Gobweyn, Qamqam, Yontoy, Wadajir camp, Sacmoja and Bula-gadud that already endorse gaps and IYCF network for the Juba land Ministry of Health.

IOM: The organisation is EPHS partner in the area. Their representative informed participants of their intention to construct houses for the returnees and a health facility in the land allocated by the government.

Participant also informed of the support IOM is giving voluntary returnees at the Dhobley stop over.

In addition, IOM is readily available of information sharing and collaborating among nutrition partners.

MEDAIR: target treatment 0f 1900 SAM cases for the facility based intervention in ex-Bader area.

The organization will integrate the OTP with TFSP, all MAM case will be treated as well in the facility, and the TFSP program will start on September once we receive supplies. SAF-UK: is actively undertaking OTP programs through mobile and fixed sites covering the 5 regions of Kismayo town.

More so, the Organization registered for the Last Month more than 300 SAM cases.

SAF-UK International is mainly focusing on treatment of Uncomplicated SAM, also having integrated IYCF support, through counselling and education, NHHP education, micronutrient supplementation for PLWs, and social mobilisation for use of health and nutrition services through community based workers.

SOMALI-AID: Remarked has to open nutrition service delivery within Kismayo town especially in Farjano village funded by Mediar. More so, the organization is expecting to open new sites in Kismayo town.

PAC: They have started a new program funded by UNICEF, for treatment of complicated SAM through an SC in Farjano.

They also run provide medical services in the district hospital, and informed participants that cases of measles have been reported at the Kismayo General Hospital, but are not too many to declare an outbreak.

PAC also request to get plan site for new start of OTP centre within Kismayo.

CHALLENGES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

-Partners bring out the need to make stronger coordination, partners complain about weak information sharing and also weak coordination between partners.

-Lack of proper site mapping that because overlapping

UN OCHA: Humanitarian Affairs Officer puts more focus on the importance of cluster coordination and emphasised the need of participation and coordination.

He also urged partners to stop stern words from some of the organizations representatives that are habitual absentees. He also urged stronger coordination and participation.
