Conformation class will be starting with a meeting of students and parents on January 20th at 6:00pm in the seekers class room. Conformation is for anyone 6th grade and up who has not been through the class yet. The class will be taught by the pastor Steve Chappell and will last about 10 weeks.

In the United Methodist Church, we baptize infants and children, the confirmation class is about making sure those young people (and sometimes adults) know what baptism means and giving them a chance to confirm that baptism and publicly accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is also for persons who have not yet been baptized and are thinking about being baptized. It is also a time for our congregation to celebrate our young people’s

VOWS OF A PROFESSING MEMBER

According to paragraph 217 of the Book of Discipline, the vows of professing members, including confirmands, are:

1. To renounce the spiritual forces of wickedness, reject the evil powers of the world, and repent of their sin;

2. To accept the freedom and power God gives them to resist evil, injustice, and oppression;

3. To confess Jesus Christ as Savior, put their whole trust in his grace, and promise to serve him as their Lord;

4. To remain faithful members of Christ’s holy church and serve as Christ’s representatives in the world;

5. To be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church and do all in their power to strengthen its witness;
