Primary images
These primary images are suitable for my magazine as they only show the upper half of a person. I had to crop most of this image down as well as I didn’t really want the background in it.
Secondary images
These secondary images are suitable for my magazine as they are a tower and a animal face made out of metal. To make this photo useable I needed to crop it down so that it fit nicely on an A4 piece of paper.
I used Photoshop to edit my images as the images where correct for what I wanted but there were a few problems with them. For instance, the image of the tower had to be cropped down. This is because it was made as a landscape image and not a portrait image. I ended up not using the second image as I decided it didn’t fit with the look of the rest of the magazine. For my primary images I needed to remove the background. I needed to remove the background because the page that the image was going on had a black background and the picture had a white background. The images didn’t really need much more manipulation after this apart from being enlarged or shrunk. I enlarged the first image as it was the image for the front cover of my magazine. However, the second image I needed to make smaller as it was a less significant photograph. The second photo was a photo that was meant to be an image of the article editor.
On the first image I cropped out the sides as they weren’t important to the image. The image is of the name of what my main article is about. It also shows an image of the map which that has been added into the game with the update I talk about.
In the second image I needed to take out the background. This involved me cutting around the person in the image carefully to make sure that I didn’t delete a piece of them. I use the magic wand to do this as it gave me the best precision whilst cutting around the person. However, first of all I cropped the image down so that I had less of the background to cut out.
