LINKAGE EOI 2015 ARC Linkage Projects for funding in 2016 Information to consider before submitting an ARC Linkage Project Grant EOI: Context The Linkage Projects scheme provides funding to Eligible Organisations to support research and development (R&D) projects which are collaborative between higher education researchers and other parts of the national innovation system, which are undertaken to acquire new knowledge, and which involve risk or innovation. Information to consider before submitting an ARC Linkage Project Grant EOI:

ContextThe Linkage Projects scheme provides funding to Eligible Organisations to support research and development (R&D) projects which are collaborative between higher education researchers and other parts of the national innovation system, which are undertaken to acquire new knowledge, and which involve risk or innovation.

The scheme is a highly competitive one and the figure below shows the success rate across the sector during the period 2009–2014:

EOI AssessmentThe EOI process will examine criteria such as:

Excitement, rigour and innovation of the proposed project Significance of research problem and potential impact on partner organisation/s Publication intensity, citation analyses and academic impact in the field – team track record Capability and experience of the research team Supportive research environment Alignment with UWS research strengths and themes

PurposeThe purpose of this EOI process is to ensure applicants are provided with the best possible support, to maximise the University’s success and reputation in major competitive rounds, and to ensure that only high quality proposals are submitted.

ProcessThe EOI process will be lead by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and assessed by an EOI Assessment Panel comprising a HASS and STEM Lead Strategist, the AOU Research Director, Professoriate, Director of Research Services, Senior Project Development Manager, Research Development Officer and a member of the Research Engagement, Development & Innovation team (REDI).

EOI OutcomesThe ORS will provide written feedback to each researcher who submits an EOI in this round.
