1. OverviewThis document describes where the main configuration of TRIM 7.1 files are located, e.g.

It is also assumed that the meaning of the settings already mentioned in the user manual will not be described again. Hence, please refer to the user manual for more detailed information.

2. DatabaseIn general, the following information is stored the database (MS SQL/Oracle):
Items LocationHPTRIM System Options Most system settings are stored in the [TSTWRSYS] table,
except User Permission items, which are in [TSNOTES].
The HPTRIM System Options take effect on all clients of TRIM system.
HPTRIM Options The settings are set individually for each user and saved into table TSXMLDATA.
They include: Search Search Result Viewer Drop File Drop Folder Email Spelling Reporter Startup Locale Option, except 2 options:
o Work directly with HP TRIMo Allows access to Windows File Open and Save
DialogsAs soon as the TRIM client starts up, it will load the configurations based on the user profile.
Document Caching Settings for the workgroup document cache is located in table [TSWORKGROU]
Notes: Client document cache settings are defined in [TSTWRSYS] from HPTRIM System Options.
Favorites & Recent Stored in table [TSLABEL] and [TSLABELITE]Initially there is no data in these tables. When a user adds some more items, the data will be added accordingly.

3. Configuration FilesLocated at <ServerData> \ TRIMconfig.tcfg, the file is loaded and displayed by the TRIM Enterprise Studio tool. The User can modify the setting, save the update into the file as well as deploy the change to all Workgroup Servers registered.
When the Workgroup Server gets a new configuration, the Workgroup Service will need to be restarted to load the new settings.

The following information is stored in the TRIMconfig.tcfg file:
Workgroup Properties
In 7.1, the RCF configuration (see the Communication tab in the below figure) is stored in the TRIM Configuration file instead of Windows Registry as in TRIM 6.2.

4. Windows Registry
4.1 HKEY_CURRENT_USER

By default, in Windows 7, its value =C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Hewlett-Packard\HP TRIM\14\EstoreClientTransfer or its equivalent in other operating systems.
TRIMLocalAppData String Trim Client
Contains client document cache (EstoreClientCache) folder of each dataset, log and Temp data.
The default value depends on the operating system - for Windows 7, it is C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hewlett-Packard\HP TRIM or its equivalent in other operating systems.
TopDrawerDataPath String Trim Client, Trim Watcher and Office Add-in
Contains the Offline Records folder.
By default, in Windows 7, its value =C:\Users\<user>\Documents \Offline Records (<DBID>)or its equivalent in other operating systems.

When launching the TRIM Client application, the client can use the default dataset or the user can select a dataset shown on the below dialog (Open HP TRIM Dataset dialog).

5.1 Office Add-in
From the TRIM client application
o Select [Tools]-[Option] menu item and activate the Integration tab on the Option
dialog
o And then select the [Allow Access to Windows File Open and Save Dialog]
checkbox.
Select [Tools]-[Desktop Add in] menu item, and choose the office add-in:
o MS Word
o MS Excel
o MS Power Point
o MS Project
On MS Word/Excel/Power Point/Project
o Open MS Options, select Add-ins page and set up COM Add-ins.
