Idea generation-

I found that looking at crowded magazines confused me. I didn’t know what to look at first so when I come to design my front cover I will make sure that it is simple and not over crowded. I will use the texts size to show the importance of the items.

This magazine cover of VOGUE is good because you are not bombarded with headings and sub-headings. The person on the front suggests what this issue is possibly about. I also like how the subject used in the magazine cover is color coordinated with the theme. I will consider my image I use to color coordinate with my theme. Then the magazine will have a more professional look and finish to it.

The cover of ELLE is confusing. You know to look at the sub-headings in Red and Bold but you don’t know which one to look at first.

The magazine cover of ‘Look’ I like because it is simple. The theme is nice black, white and red. Also I like how it only has one sub-heading. It doesn’t bombard you with a load of cheesy catch phrases. It looks very professional; it looks like it has had time and thought put into and it hasn’t just been thrown together.

The magazine here I also like because it is not over crowded you know what you are looking and I also like how there is only one sub- heading.

Good themes to use seem to be black, white and red as I have seen this theme used in magazines that have a profession finish to them. I will consider using this theme when I come to design my cover.
