September 2020 A Warm Welcome… to everyone on their return to school and in particular to our new P1 pupils. We also have new pupils in P2, P3, P5 & P6 and we hope they all thoroughly enjoy their time at Spires Integrated Primary School. Things are different this year, but I am so impressed by how the children and all parents/adults are adhering to our one-way system and our new procedures, such as regular hand washing and staying in class bubbles. I thank you for your understanding and support in our mission to keep everyone in the school community safe. Dinners Dinners will be available for FSM pupils only from Monday 14 September, as with all of our measures, we are implementing new procedures gradually to gauge how well they work, before we move towards whole school dinners. It is your responsibility to contact staff in the school office for assistance if you have difficulty accessing the system. Pupils will be engaging in the application process for these soon.

SeeSaw

If you haven’t received your new codes for SeeSaw please contact the school office immediately as all pupils are being given an introductory task this week (7 – 11 Sept), this will help them to become familiarised with the tools. Homework will begin on SeeSaw from Monday 28 September.

Sacraments

Congratulations to our outgoing P7 pupils who made their Confirmation on Sunday 23 August and we send best wishes to some P5 pupils who will receive their First Communion on Sunday 20 September. Many thanks to Mrs Kearney and Mrs Henry for all the preparation involved.

Lunch boxes and Water Bottles

The Governors have decided to reintroduce lunchboxes and water bottles from Monday 14 September. It is essential that these are cleaned thoroughly each evening. If you still wish to send disposable ones that is also acceptable.
