They should be able to determine the central idea and supporting details of informational text. We are also working to ensure students are reading on their levels every day. Please make sure your 5 th grader reads every night. Writing: Research Essays We are researching the era of the Industrial Revolution. Students will pick a topic to research, becoming an expert on how that topic influenced our world today. We will then write an essay based on our Math: Decimals and Expressions Students are reviewing basic math with decimals. TEST on Wednesday on Chapter 6. Then we will start Chapter 7 on Expressions, Patterns, and Coordinate Plains/Ordered Pairs. Science: Weathering/Landforms Students will begin Unit 2 on Weathering and Landforms. We will learn about types of erosion as well and ocean landforms this week. Quiz on vocabulary words.
